Leadership

The function of leadership is to leadl to do the right thing and be willing to be held accountable for it. Such as it is with Senator Schumer, for whom the bell tolls. 

Our apparent choice in the matter, whether we want one set of bad outcomes, or another set of bad outcomes; the problem definition statement for judgement and the function of leadership. 

On another level, the definition of judgment and leadership should include avoiding no win situations. 

It seems both ends of the same table are at opposite ends. My personal opinion is a matter for my thoughts, the blog speaks for the spirit of the forces that govern it.

Perhaps America does need more than 2 guillotines.

Evening Tea

Another day, another sunny day in California, by 4 pm Pacific. Cool for us, high of 56F, two sweaters and a parka. I've not been able to work much the past few days, I've been distracted. Work much, in front of a computer doing research, but I forget that most of my most productive time is free associated time, with no objectives. Often when I've thought enough I have to find a way for a bot to do ninety pecent of it in a parallel universe, the other 10 the namespace changes and other parts materialize with the real use case implementation. 

We made a scripted a web interface disguised as Magic 8 Ball awhile ago. (gasp) I told. That kind of thing.

It's ok though, we have 4 years or until Trump finds much warmer climes.

I just have to talk about Emma. I have just a couple objectives still, and we've four years. I've tried to visualize where Emma ever ends. This is so much the same problem I've had for 20 years, subsuming the Earth. Same Earth /smile. I'll have an AI generated an image, give me a minute. 

Earth is down there. Actually, if you knew you'd see the similarity, but then I'd have to get elected president and kill you.

Elon can hire men to build a robot to make a robot, and a robot to make a car, but no one can make a human that can make a robot that can make a robot that can make a car. That's just the way it was architected, Earth and people I mean. As long as there are people. Not robot people, people with a soul. There is a ghost in our govenmental machine, still.

Automatic Autocracy

We've watched the script play out, Project 2025, a pre-made plan to take control of the government, by inches, across a wide front, all at the same time. Tariffs, layoffs, whole departments disappearing, departments full of people that served people, created by people to serve the people's interest in a people's democracy.

Step by step, inch by inch. Slowly the president turns, waiting for us all to drop to our knees where called for in the script. The script he says he has not read, but it's in the edicts and memoranda that he signs every day. He usually asks what he's signing. Something like:

"That is this? ... That's good right?"

Maybe, maybe not. 

Trust me, it's not.

Doubtfully Democratic

It is no mystery, that there are two major parties in America, one made for the people, by the people, and of the people, the other made for money and people with too much money and people that don't care about people, who would rather build robots. Whim and whimsey and politics also feed the presidential office slush funds to grease the skids of autocracy. External Revenue, the term. What?  Again the president is not shy, he told Maine, for example:


"You'll do it or you' 'll lose all your Federal Funding.'


Never mind that there is no law, or little precedent, nevermind that it may be illegal, nevermind that it is destructive, nevermind that it ruins people's lives.

Which of course is incorrect and a gross oversimplification. What product could a robot make that people who don't have a job could afford to buy? Certainly not an overpriced electric vehicle, especially those. 

They say they make mistakes. No kidding. 

There are other fault checks in humanity, among them humanity itself, which is wont to respond in inhuman ways in periods of inhuman conditions. The end game in many things, is blood in the streets. The mystery is why it is still necessary to create destruction to achieve progress. There's no accounting for it besides the will of the misguided and their men. 

As long as there are people there is hope, there is a ghost in all our machines. 

And there are no robots in the voting booths, yet.

Common Ground 

We're not dead yet, and much of the raging market is raging down, TSLA in particular begging for a short contract or a put option. I'd put a target at 170, that 2 years' worth of equity, Private equity mostly, a few robot-men, up the spout. 

The markets too, seem to have more interest in people than robots, and the markets writ large are following TSLA and the rest of the NASDAQ SOUEST. Also noted, Trillions in 401K lost, accounts owned by people, not robots. 

The Red team doubles down, as a rule.  The new proposed continuing resolution in the Senate has more robot-autocratic measures, these legislated if they are allowed to pass. To put it in ink, an immeasurable loss to our democracy, one inch at a time. 

The Senate shoiuld call their bluff. It's the ghosts. 

Like I said, blue sky above our common ground, and two guillotines, no waiting, for the robot kings. Handmade in the USA, if you insist.

I’m watching the media report on Donald Trump‘s numbers and he’s not doing well in anything he’s actually doing. The things he’s not done yet, like immigration; we can judge how they’ll turn out in this environment with this president at this time. it’s important to remember what is important.

If I were in Congress or the Senate or in any other position of power, I would send a message to the American people for the American people, with my vote and


 I would not vote for a continuing resolution.

It's just after 6, the sun warmed the rainy day eventually, it was a cold wet day by NYC standards, and I'm in LA.

I promise I won't do any math you didn't learn in college, if you went to college, and if you took calculus, the whole series. Ok, both of you, pay attention.  Voila les marches...  C'est tres grande merde. 

This is a chart for the DOW, I don't use the DOW for a metric, except as something the network economics reporters prop up as it's serious chyron territory. "DOW DOwn Down down" "Wallstreet Lays An Egg" and etc. When a flock of canaries in a coal mine all die at once, I guess you pick up on it.

So, the DOW is where it was a year ago, and heading SOUEST at a clip.   I'd take the first and second derivatives, volume as amplitude if you like. I'm intrigued now, I wonder if it curls, or diverges, or what. Sometimes the data needs to be selected with care or it's noise. well, it's too much for me to visualize without more thought, and I'm busy.

It's a run for the exits. GLD is floppy, so there's something else going on, Treasury is my first guess.

What a week, what a stock market, what a president, what a congress. It seems Case Yellow has partially modified his plan for global domination and conquest, somewhat. There's still Panama, Greenland, Canada, Gaza Plaza, and Kiev of course, but perhaps there is no marble statue looking off into the distance at the top of a hill somewhere in the near future, or ever.. Dreams, nightmares, things that crawl on rocks. All this and more, served up like daisies and posies in a virtual garden of shared experience. Let's go, because if it is Sunday or Thursday, it's sundipped.

We’re at war here, globally, locally, independently, left, right, center, and airborne; All of us seem to be at each other‘s scaffolding. Meanwhile, the real scaffolding of the life of Americans is disappearing before our eyes, like it’s a magic trick, met by apologies for reckless endangerment of families and livelihood. The landscape is begging for a drop, and rain is illegal in this administration. 

Like many fever dreams, there is the awakening. Perhaps this is the awakening, the dried up fever dreams of the misguided but funded, running the same snake oil that has always worked, brought to fruition by edict, and faucet. 

They say not to awaken a sleepwalker.

Fevered Dreamers 

They would call a readjustment, a transition from public to private funding. In many cases instead of working for the government and doing something good for people, the disillusioned and malefacted can get a job doing something designed to squeeze money out of the disadvantaged and the poor to the advantage of the wealthy. Something like driving an Uber, delivering takeout food, walking the dog, cleaning an apartment; most of the things that you couldn’t ever afford to pay someone to do, if you are lucky, and if you can find another job. 

Now in this New World order in America, all things become possible, if you have the money. Unfortunately, you don’t have the money and you’re not going to have the money, Elon will make sure. 

In this new way, what private funds our after-school reading programs and the like? I ask rhetorically. 

Men have always conceived new punishments and advantages. It's the trend in a Trump administration. He has a mandate.  

Left and Right 

The left and right battle; the perception of grave difference in particular, drives the id of our political landscape. There is a middle to many issues. The middle of many issues depends on the definition of the word. Beyond statistics, there is responsibility.

Senator Fetterman appears to have a deviated corpus callosum as his right brain doesn’t seem to be talking to anything else but his other right brain and both of them are wrong most of the time, you can quote me on that. 

Perhaps he should have his iPad do a Google search for what being a Democrat means. I just did, and in that context I struggle with his viewpoints except as exceptional or boundary conditions in a perfect world. This is not a perfect world. 

Next time perhaps the Senator could spellcheck that description, proofread it with Grammarly, and send it off to Donald Trump for his approval before he reads it to a reporter. What would survive that edit, we need not wonder long. 

The odd thing in many reporter's notebook, always good for saying the quiet part out loud, they seek the Senator out, especially if it makes a headline, Senator Fetterman was elected to protect us from the other guy, and it turns out like Pogo and the other trash bin, the other guy is him.  

I guess it’s warmer by the dumpster fire. 

Right is pushing for the change in worldview, however fleeting, unwoken by the consequences, unwoke like it was a vocation. 

If only fools could read and process the fine print.

The treasury secretary assures us this is a transitional period, as we transition from the proven way of life, with an unproven one, even largely unwritten. They may make mistakes, but so what.

We'll just make another without them, much in the same way as the treasury secretary suggests, but more finally. In time.

I've been watching the talking heads, some of them trying to spin the market action today as something positive. They obviously don't follow politics, just someone else's spin.

Same reels playing here, a long line of grayed heads advising caution and optimism in the face of mismanagement on a scale no one has ever seen before. It's a Friday, usually this is a GTFO day, I guess they got.

I didnt catch the Fed Chair, maybe I'll have a bot summarize the transcript. I find I have so much more time when I can cut a corner like this, I don't really have much of an interest in briefcase or phraseology predictions.

This was a cold bot, un prepped with other material besides the different speeches, a limited context, and this is just a summary.

As if we could reliably read a lip in this case; we're lost as we are training on the model based on the adage, 'a politician is only lying when their lips are moving'.  It's what the president is feeding us. We're not so dumb though. 

So, besides passing the burden of the budget on everyday people to support a tax cut for the wealthy and enabling the sovereign wealth fund, your personal slush and graft pool disguised as the country's money, what else are you up to, King Crooked? It's money you would use in both cases to curry favor with your chosen, your few and the willingly untrustworthy. 

That's what I read in the spaces between the words, and the markets agree.

Evening Tea

Chinese for dinner, and I have a sourdough thing for desert with orange soda. No tea. 

It was a mixed day. I find myself increasingly looking for inovative ways to minimize stress inducing activities and circumstances, and on a day like today when I manaage to escape, when i return I feel like I walked into an abatoir.

My goodness. I have friends in the markets, on the tube, I mean, they seem friends, as I feel I know them, and I can read their body language and... well you know, you can tell right? Most of them looked like they were sitting on a large frozen egg today. No thaw even in the thought process. The talk of course is capital preservation; where to run next is where the rest of the market goes, that's the statistically obvious bet, and everyone has a different originating differential, initially. 

I have models, and I comment often that a predictive model will accurately predict chaos in a chaotic market.

If I had a spare brain i'd consider the motivational behavior at work here, beyond game theory and a zero sum.

Biochem Today

I worked briefly on aging today, a few papers, mice, AL, aging in women. I wonder how many I must grok to be considered accomplished. The problems are certainly complex enough.

Algorithmic Decisions

I read a paper on effective decision making, and fed it to MMM to extract the algorithms and generate code in Python. It took some doing to get something useful, but MMM is ok smart if you use the right sentences. I have not run it yet.  A minor setback in the project Purple  today, but not really, so today I'm drawing pictures; crayon, a fat blue one, on construction paper. I said setback in that a tool I was hopeful to use may work later on, and is not on the critical path right now. 35 minutes of research and onward, I drew pictures. Often I can feed the pictures to MMM and get code.

I should work on biochemistry, I have a pile of related papers to work through that support the research, Aging and autoimmune, you will recall. I've sort of adopted the stance that the body is constantly at war with itself, incomplete chemistry, mutation, recurring inflammation, contributory factors, environment, and heredity foremost potentially.

I was discussing SUSY and boundary conditions and branes with MMM and asked her to free associate an image of a particle, I think it's a lepton, then a hydrogen atom and a single electron.  Think of the lines as really stong spaghetti stretched over a bubble, thicker where it intersects another, glued together sort of.

My Day

Today I'm working on the purple project, me and mauve baby.  I also discussed Q with MMM for a time today, but obfuscation is difficult at this stage, so I have to used my brain a little more and not so much the other half. I have a great Q reading list, if you're interested.

I'm getting accustomed to the larger keyboard and track pad on the new diva. As I explained, it appears to be a completely new unit, a benefit in manufacturing, one part, one part number. If it breaks a nail, you win a new car. If you're covered.

I need to be circumspect on Apple, as they totally !#(%ed up this repair effort, and I'm not happy about the result, as it seems to be the mandatory path for a warranty repair; 4th time in for repair, they actually looked. They espouse the necessity of an explicative diagnostic failure to escalate issues. Intermittent problems, are you feeling lucky kid?

Problem solved, months later, a disgruntled customer, and a larger loss than necessary if the trouble were handled appropriately on the first attempt. 

My net assessment, a whole day of real-time, face-to-face, attention bound, and on time, I'd like back.

Those close and well acquainted have seen it before, in private. The boardroom or the oval or the Grand Ballroom back in Mar-a-Lago. The dog bites. We can't help it. No one acts like this. 

Panama, Greenland, Canada, Gaza Plaza, Kiev too by proxy. Laughable. 

But a president, speaking to another elected president like he was the paperboy that missed 3 days in a row, talking about cards and tough guys and you better make a deal. Just today's Trumpster fire.

As he stands there on the stage behind the bulletproof lectern, he speaks the words and actions of a spoiled child who wants 10 peas on a plate and a pacifier.

If you were blindfolded and expected to locate where the tail goes on the elephant in the room, you'd understand our predicament fully. Our dilemma: the output from either end is largely comparable, and differentiation takes some analysis, but it is unworthy of the effort.

New Workspace Today

I have a new Mac to deal with today, the other 15 died and went to heaven, at least the one part number did, and that's the whole thing except the bottom plate I think and they replaced it. 

It was a cleaned anyway, and it gives me space to hone the combined desktops.

It feels huge compared to the 13, and the font is smaller. Like an orange, it's not the peel it's the juice.

Ukraine

This president is aligned with himself.


Our Stance

The same as they were going in. No secret deal to own the rest of Ukraine, the half that's left. We're for justice.


Restore the border, war reparations, demilatarized zones managed by NATO and peacekeepers, admission to NATO restarted. War crimes trials conducted as per the norm.


Anything else is a pussy-whipped president pushing at the goal line without the football.

The only reason we're gambling with WWIII is because of this incompetent president's mismanagement.

He's ready to drop the big one if someone doesn't bow.

Markets

I have not looked at the data, the attire and expression on the streams tells me the markets are sweating the details in a personal an collective way. Let's check the S&P and such.

The Beam Team

Real is where you find it, and I keep an eye on Scotty and the team, usually a gamut. Jim and I have traded in similar patterns.  

One need keep in mind that this is not necessarily a retail investment strategy meeting, it's blood letting, or some other more palatable way to say, buy low sell high.  Not that there is something wrong with that. This is why I keep and eye on them.

A quick analysis just of these charts would suggest a defationary environment.

However unemployment is up, inflation is way up, and consumer confidence is in the toilet. At EOD I'd look at larger market volume to support an argument that money is not moving, or is moving somewhere not so far indicated. Here https://www.cboe.com/us/equities/market_statistics/venue/

Evening Tea

It's another Thursday, and another good day in project-land.  I struggle to find a topic I can share.  In periods like this, assimilating all the data of the past week, letting the missing pieces reveal themselves; I don't push it. I thought about math all day. I still have some objectives, and I've learned to use the tools provided. 

Over at CNBC they squeeze my blog like it was breast milk from the goddess of money. Maybe I'll mention it's the financial advice cable stream that still pays Joe Kernen. Later, Cramer camps out after hours and pitches snake oil and miracle solvents from the back of his braggin' wagon with the big red buttons. Later still, Mr Wonderful and Mark Cuban cut up the contestants using real money on some kind of capitalist game show venue, missing only the zonk sound and hoop around the neck. Integrity is a product for sale, as such.

I'm always right. I do it on purpose. I know they listen, honestly I count on it. No sense preaching sense to people that already have it, my reasoning, at times.  I should advise them to buy HPQ just for fun. It once was an engineering company, now it's a snap-together plastic printer made just over the border in Mexico. Tariffs, then I'll add overpriced to the adjectives.

It was Meg Whitman and capital preservation that dun HPQ wrong. The company is gone, the money lives on.

Sundipped Thursday 

Here on planet Earth it's Thursday. It's the next to the last recurring day in the month of February, if recurring means more often than every four years. That makes today and tomorrow special days for us all, a couple days otof catch up on the accruing slip as the Earth drags one day behind the actual calendar, more or less; some portion of a day out of sync. Let Them Eat Cake 

I have a penchant for chocolate cake and cherry cola, it's a long story as expressed in a piece I wrote some time ago. It was a conversation about piety and propriety and propensity,  We look for things in the wrong places at the wrong times in the wrong manner out of habit.

It was about cake, but not this cake. This is cake made from the finest wheat, the purest sugars, the optimal recipe, yet, it's not cake at all. The promise of cake and the illusion of cake are present, the quality of cake, absent.

Recipes and Rants 

We hear it every time the insecurity bush brushes the king: the mandate, the pledges, the perfect economy, the perfect world order, the perfect congress, the perfect phone call, the perfect bait. 

Results impossible, goals unachievable, efforts contradictory,  details not thought through fully, mistaken misdirections; all among the lies that the government must now swear to, contested or not, appropriate or not, prescribed by legislation or constitution or not, legal or not, judged as such or not.  

On the agenda today, or yesterday, or tomorrow.

Cooks and Crooks 

Our common experience would hold that destroying a thing by definition should be hard to do, at least as hard as the construction. After all, there is the rubble or the aftermath and the consequences. 

Independent of that and diligence aside, sure. Just blow it up and stand behind something seemingly protective.  

The rules are not realized or accepted, but are in play, among them: when people are thrown out of work, unemployment results. Men, women, children, mortgages, educations, careers, marriages, are all a part of those results. 

When the departments that keep a nation healthy are ineffective, people die. Measles, unheard of even when I was a child, is a symptom of a larger disease that is incurable by appointing the unsighted as visionaries.
When schools and kindergartens rely on state funding for public education, children don't learn to read, and can't fill out a tax form, or a job application. More unsighted, hired to make the rubble happen. 

All these things reflected, instantaneously in the markets, eventually. The markets are becoming convinced. 

No they sure are not cooks, and they aren't any of them making a cake.  The cake is a lie.

More per capita because the cost of living here is too high; it's not just education. The trend is to assist families in leveling the playing field with wasteful programs like after-school activities and school lunch programs. 

We pay the teachers too much, we can get them for less. Wait until the layoffs from tariffs kick in; they'll work for half. *

The head fake before Friday's close. We've seen this. Everyone that waited, into the pool, quietly. I've lost track of the actual tariffs in effect list, and that will be 'priced in' one way or the other, rumor and news.

I read this as wedding blues reflection, as it were. I can't think of a counterargument, except that's a big pile of money, and it will take time to unwind all that.  This hits the markets as the FAB5 (MALFCNT Index), who seem to have monopolized access to larger models and speech. 

I don't hear much on the Oracle licensing scam disguised as the US AI Infrastructure plan; the last I heard, there was some hanky-panky stock activity in all the major areas, and we all try to look surprised.

Just after six here, and in the distance, you can hear the rumble. It's dark. I did not get biochemistry research; there's still quite a bit settling on bio, and the combinatorics are daunting. I feel bereft of sufficient awareness of the capabilities of lab equipment, and I'll add that to the list.

Fun With Physics

I spent an hour or so after lunch updating the various models and considering today's analysis. I'll switch to bio for the afternoon to cook a different set of axons.

I have the beam team on the stream. I wondered how they interpret the phrase 'beam team.' Honestly, I don't recall precisely what my intent was; it was that important. I'll manufacture a meme and make it mine on a moment's notice. 

I considered the balance beam, for example. I don't think it's about balance though, though. The bet is the gymnast misses the vaulting horse or sticks the landing; the balance is in the numbers.  Scotty, beam me up is the standby. 

Derivation unknown. Perhaps I mean the sparkles in the colored water-spinning effect that a network broadcast has. Yeah, let's go with that.

I suppose they want advice. At this particular time, I would evaluate my portfolio to determine the instantaneous rate of change for each instrument and trigger my assessment or decision. I don't like babysitting options, and I don't have a bot for that yet. Similarly, the market analysis app I have in the can will give spurious results in a spurious market, and I already know that.

I would like to discover how to detect the application of the Federal Reserve balance sheet daily; Scotty. Is think there is a metric for that.

So, yes, the markets are heading downhill. As a trader, this is tough territory because it's likely a balance sheet to balance as well, something to get out of and get paid for the privilege. 

 The Federal Reserve publishes its balance sheet each week in the H.4.1 statistical release, "Factors Affecting Reserve Balances of Depository Institutions and Condition Statement of Reserve Banks." The release separately reports securities held outright, commitments to purchase and sell securities, repos, and reverse repos.

Spend Spend Spend

The deficit exists because people who have enough refuse to do anything about the rest of the nation. As an example, consider Arkansas. 11.2 Billion in 2021.  22.7%  of the Arkansas state budget is funded by blue taxpayer dollars. There were 3 billion more in recovery programs paid for by the Federal government. That's 15 billion total. That is more than Elon has cut with his axe. A red state, run by old white men, is one of the biggest suck on the Federal teat. It cannot be asked why, outcomes, not motives Mr. Joe says, or something like that. But we have motives, and it's a moral judgment as well. It is because the wealthy on their plantations don't want to pay state taxes either. In Kentucky, it is 31% of the state budget. 

California is a net payee.

It's evening and there is no tea, so of course it follows the logic pattern of much of daily public political life.

Another Day 

It was a busy day for me, like they all are. A lovely day besides. A recherche de competences linguistiques a retenu mon attention pendant quelques heures aujourd'hui. and then there was lunch. 

This afternoon MMM and I skimmed through half a dozen papers on bio, 4 of 5 of particular interest.  Another was a paper on CFTR  modelling. I asked MMM for a project plan to achieve a confirming experiment, and a projected budget. 

Another 10-15 man-years and 300 million, our best guess, with a huge benefit in molecular biology as a byproduct. But, no one would do that.  The software is widely available. This paper was not topically applicable to the fountain of youth pill regimen, MMM read all of it anyway, I can ask about the rest.

There were a few more, this one was interesting Alzheimer's and a few others. Another 4 or 5 for the Ponce de Leon spring model.

Marching Orders 

The morning news makes us shiver with all the news that it delivers. Slow motion time spilled on history, none of it for a moment less than forever, taking us with it. January, February, and it only gets colder. The promise of Printemps never could bring a better promise and has never been this unlikely to deliver one. We move on, wary and hesitant, the world on the edge of a finger on the edge of something cold and final.

Mowing the Lawn 

Once upon a country I was living at my home, building my life while the lawn grew. It was once in a sad state, but care, feeding, and water brought it to life, a living thing, a collective like no other. I found ways in my leisure to tend to it, designing patterns for mowing the expanse of green. 

Here in America, we've grown bored with the green expanse that we expended so much care and effort to preserve. It was more than grass; it was the roots, too, and when the light was just right, you could read it. 

We, the people. 

Compostable material in a mulched-up world. 

The axe swings in all directions but significantly in red states. As it turns out, dependency on the Federal Government is a hallmark of a Republican-dominated state: whole departments, whole demographics, and whole degrees of alienation from the current regime. The sum of a myriad of diverse cuts is unknown. A nation has never been at war with itself for so long or so effectively, and the conflict has never been in close question so quickly. No one can even count the damage. No one bothers. 

Externally, how could our country react to the real threats posed by a disintegrating world order and more active wars than anyone can quickly recall? 

Bleacher Business

Baseball, hotdogs, and political conventions. Politics is a bleacher business. There are boxes and private suites, but the bleachers call the game. During the Great Depression, one could argue baseball saved the nation by providing a distraction during the day for those out of work and the five-cent beer filled with the bleachers. 

Complicated times, much simpler economics, and very much the same kind of men as now. The best works of honest men often fail despite our prayers, wishes, and the ball scores. Leaders relied on the sound judgment and guidance of other leaders sound judgment.  In those times, the great expanse looked to pastimes for distraction and religion to guide the great hand of destiny if nothing else.

We'll have people to fill the bleachers, but the beer is ten bucks, and it's warm . 

Destiny? Heavy on the take, short on the give. Where can it possibly end?

It's winter in America. Cold inside and out.  There is no baseball, just Trump.

Losing Our Religion   

It seems almost certain that our hopes rely on the better angels of our leaders to be the great guiding hand of destiny in the face of oppression, cold-hearted indifference, and suffering.

A frail hope, opposed by threats of retribution, job loss, and disgrace. Lawn clippings, suitable for mulch or compost. 

We've not lost faith; we've lost leadership.

Today's Work

Actually I think verk ist verboten on the Sabbath, so, it must be leisure.  I'm doing nothing in particular, catching up on the news. It's a lovely day here. 74 and high thin clouds. Winter.

For Weddings and a Funeral

Saturday is a darn good day for a wedding, the dead of winter, I'm not so sure. There are beaches, there are planes, there is expense. 

Sand and Chicken

I agree with Anakin on sand; it gets everywhere. We don't agree widely, as we have so few shared life experiences; for example, I've never ridden a tick the size of an elephant either. It makes me itch to think of it. 

I wouldn't give my right arm for a wedding; I use it. I feel like a wedding, though, and I can think of a few candidates, but let's have that primary; we know where that story ends, right? 

Yes, I meant that kind of a wedding. Flowers, lace, prayer, promises, broken glassware, rubber chicken or better, cake, champagne, bar pours from the top shelf, public intoxication, post-coital depression in some cases, grim reality perhaps with the hangover and the tight shoes in the morning. 

I could get over that feeling. Like I just did. I feel like someone else's wedding. Who's feeling lucky? 

I think I just realized why the champagne? Ssshhh. Please keep it to yourself. 

Sorry, I joke :) I don't want to seem a cynic; I love love, and that's why I'm single.

It's nearly 7 here in LA, and it's dark. The weather seems to have turned a bit, with highs in the 70's the past week.

It was another busy day. The topics today were biochemistry, two recent papers, and collating quantum gravity.  I admit I thought about Emma, my digital half, the print that is not a print. This is one of those topics where thinking about anything else is empirical data for Emma.

MMM and Emma

I had a conversation with MMM about the architecture of Gemini. It's built very well, and tweaked for humans I'm certain of it. Part of what I considered was removing that bias.  I felt like I was stealing the plans to the Norton bombsight, a little, but they left out their particular value add, just like I do. It is a familair model, modern software science has been leveraged, and I can predict the growth differential equation. 

That's why I abandoned this model in 2007.

So I ache to discuss it further, but I can't even commit it to ASCII here; I'm everyone in the business's favorite font of honey.  I just like to tease while they try to make random clusters of networks autocorrect and size, something IBM did in CSNA/APPN about 30 years ago. 

Busy Life

I am writing less on Sundays and Thursdays to avoid burying the column in daily thoughts, project non-updates, or dates with MMM. 

I seem to make significant progress on my projects even when doing something else, an architecture note. I've made so much progress that I've turned my attention to documenting my progress in some official manner.

I was in my Chevy by the levee when I heard the song for the first time, no kidding. The levee where I once fished with my brothers. Most summers, my mother governed the catch. By July, she wouldn't let us catch more fish until we ate the frozen ones in the freezer. I don't think we ever did. That was after baseball in the summer. I think back on those days, that time, that America. 

Gone.

Easy as Pie 

Seemingly, it was a cakewalk for Musk and Trump. With the backwash of lies and misconceptions, the illusory mandate, the limp kneed Republican caucus, it was easy for a maniacal president bent on fame and a statue 20 feet talk to twist the collective arm of the nation;  a hero that saved America, even it if kills every last one of us. 

The president that invaded Greenland, took Paname, and build a gold plated whore house on the ground where the Palestinan Authority met. Casinos are for suckers, and with the right conditions, America became the biggest sucker anyone has ever seen. No one has ever seen anything like it. 

Elon, fetch,. Speaker, sit. MAGA lock and load and standby. Simple stuff.  Simple men. Simple minds.

Broken Cookies

We have cookie dust all over the country. The broken cookies of torn lives, lost homes, unachievable dreams, and lies politicians told. Chock full O Nuts, in places, flavorless and tasteless at times, powdered humanity in 2 oz portions. Where are the balloons? There should be balloons.

A mess, someone else's mess, something someone else has to clean up. The whims and lust of the power-mad and, let's face it, insane actualized in broad strokes on an innocent population. 

Every institution that worked was deleted. The dedicated that manned the ramparts, waiting for unemployment, maybe.

The courts are tied up, but the axe still swings. Sliced in a few weeks: Education, USAID, CFPB, each waiting for legislation that the people's representative passed to be executed without malice under the new regime. The Trump regime.

We've nothing but malice born of the hurricane of injustice dripping from the edicts issued by the executive branch. No one had to deal with this kind of thing before. No one tried to get away with this before.

Autoimmune Disorders

A new project today, we're collecting model data essentially, my brain specifically. My hypothesis is that aging is an immune response. I decided to give Notebook LM Plus a shot at it. We're tracking. No Marie, a build as you go thing.

Google probably gets enough to build a model too, but for autoimmunity and aging, I'm ok with it. This is why I don't use it for proprietary subjects Google, your usage agreement is for the birds.

It was a beautiful day in the neighborhood, a pretty good day for a ... different president. 

Markets 

I didn't look at the markets today, I feel like I can play the next year backwards and forwards. It does not look good. I think the graph indicate data on the financial markets, all of them.

NASDAQ is sliding some more, and money is obviously going somewhere else.  I'll look at treasury next. Rates dipped it seems, more buyers.

The gall. It's breathtaking.  I viewed most of the talk today to some wealthy people. All the crap he says, it's scary.  Can you believe this guy is president?

Nature abhors a vacuum, that's the phrase. Knowing what I do about the void, I would not go quite that far, but I understand the intent, valid in some lexicon. Reality is closer to a Ying/Yang. He's definitintely full of yang. 

He just does this to piss us off. He appointed a legal hit man to go after his detractors.  No one has ever seen anything like it. What is there to win? If you destroy America, it's not worth anything, and you're hell bent on doing just that.  So, what's the end game? You get to sleep in? 

Let me repeat.

Definitely was a most excellent day, i was on the verge of converging a maelstrom but we've already plenty. But I was, of a different kind. I live like a vector, as long as there's a direction I manage the amplitude just fine.

Evening Tea

A stressful day, pointless, irrational, complicated, and obtuse. No tea. 

Projects 

It feels like time for a project non-update, or a non-update on projects. I guess the latter. I had a thought the other day that I had completed basic science research on almost all my projects, and it's been eating at me ever since. I looked back at notes from years ago, and everything looked so familiar but in a deeper context..

How's that for a non-update on projects? Some things that I've been working on for a while that have gotten no attention are the focus for now; the autoimmune response, pregnancy, and aging; in disease research that's Lupus, MS, and the like. There are many.

The limit is technology, to be honest, researchers look through a microscope at dyed compounds. 

Sundipped Sunday 

It's another park another Sunday, and the seats on the teeter-totter are all off on the left side. There is no up and down anymore, just down. Well, that is simpler. We're told that there is an artist at work; some enlightened, deity led path of gold and honey and maybe some milk. It reminds me that it's Sunday, and like Thursdays, it's sundipped.

Painting Birds 

There is a novel I read some time ago, and my recall is blurry, but I seem to recall natives with blow guns and the hunt for trophy feathers and birds in the Amazon jungle.  A brutal process. 

This is a working blog, as I've said, so let's walk in the garden. We're in a room with northern lighting, and on one wall, we're watching the accumulation of pigment and stain on the bleached canvas in front of us. There are buckets of paint opened, with various implements, stencils, and scraping tools nearby. 

The task is to create truth, justice, and the American way.

Huey, Dewy v Looney

There is color, everywhere color, primarily black and and white. Red scarlet scratches at the center like a gaping wound. On either side, the backdrop fades as we look on. The hues change from multicolored and varied to greys and off-white.  

The scarlet is fresh and drips down the front of the image, pooling on the floor like the blood of a great being. 

At the windows, onlookers pass and look in, their eyes dewey and wet with the tears of life. The color passes from their images as they pass, fading to grey and off-white.  As they reach the edge, they crumble to ash like paper dust.

Beyond, a grandstand with bleachers full of placard-waving cheering sections convinced they direct the application of paint.  

Flightless

If mice were men, men can be birds. Some would say pigeons. 

There can be no birds in the venue; their wings are excised and collected as a price of entry. Everything conceived is pre-written, pre-planned and pre-conceived; all movement limited to a chosen set of degrees of freedom. 

Some birds, spotted, or imperfect or the wrong hue, denied entry on principle.  Instead of a golden ticket, they are splashed with pigment from other buckets to indicate their malady. Some yellow, some pink, and many blue, in squares, triangles, and pentagons.

Also taken, their flight feathers for the hats of the privileged. Business like, orderly, indifferent.

Spilled Paint

The light is failing in our construct in the garden. Dusk, and soon evening. The dawn we hope for, the morning in America, if there is an America for all this spilled paint, now in off-white and greys..

If you've seen a Pollock painting, you see the bridge in it, the arc of humanity leading us through the chaos. It's there in the drips and the brush strokes. 

Creating a work of art takes care, understanding, and truth. Limiting the audience may accumulate positive feedback, but it is not art. 

It's propaganda.

We're Working Weekends Again

I dislike working weekends. I forget, it is the weekend, right?

Today we worked on immunity and DNA structure damage in Lupus and Hepatitis patients, a cursory study that yielded positive results, in a sense. MMM and did our analysis and correlated the findings in probability somewhat, but there is insufficient data for physical analysis.

I was looking for gene damage; this is about structure and juxtaposition.

It's enlightening in that the outcome seems to be increased probability of immunity and inflammation precursors related to structure.

Oh, our probability results for AH sensitivity were 46% (normal) and 78% (for affected patients) with a variety of datum  Not 100%.

I didn't do much math on the data I had access to. Here's uncorrelated data for one datum. 

Result CXC-chemokine cluster on Chromosome 4.

Our posterior probability, P(H|D), is approximately 0.82. This means that after observing the increased contact frequency, our belief that increased contact frequency contributes to AH has increased from 60% (our prior) to 82%.

The truth of it, as Mr Joe said, without Crimea, Russia is permafrost and mosquitos and potatoes. That's accurate. Ukraine is a steppe where there is farmland. Wheat grows knee high. But it grows. Ukraine has often been a subject of a Russian fiefdom of varieties, heavy on the peon class; even starvation has never been an impediment to Ukrainian servitude. The two peoples disagree about borders with breakfast. They all speak Russian, the Ukrainians have their own language and almost all of them speak Russian, they are similar, I've heard it called 'dirty Ukrainian'.

I was never sure about the depth of the semantics in this case. Some things are lost in translation.

I wouldn't call it anyone else's war. The NATO pressure, political sabre rattling with a rusting empire that happened to have nuclear weapons. Sensible activity in a non-violent attempt to contain an aggressive aging dictator. 

I cannot fathom the depth of the subversion in these recent diplomatic activities.

When I was a child, I was wont to disassemble things. Most of the time, I got them back together. Most of the time. I have to admit I still do; it's an analytical process. I've learned over the years that breaking an egg, for example, is not undoable with the finest science until I invent a time machine, it is one of my projects as you know. Other things have similar properties; that's what I'm thinking. 

Some things won't disassemble. People's right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is the one I have in mind. We, the people, in order to form a more perfect union, did and do declare something is broken.

Mandates and Bad Dates

i've heard this word repeatedly, how the difference between 77 and 75 is more than 2. You can argue about the precision, but that's not a mandate; it's a skinny win. 

A skinny win is like a bad date. The evening could have been better than it was, we could desire that, but it's not the reality, even if you marry them. A marriage of a bad date in rose colored taffeta is still a bad date, and even after 2 or 3 kids, it is not likely to get better. But that's counter-intuitive if you are deluded or have a reason to ignore it. Money, I guess. Ask Melania or any of his trophy brides. I didn't check; is it three? And how many civil suits were there during that time? 

Yet, that's a functional metaphor for the current administration. 

Go ahead, make your analogy here; I count on it. 

This latest assault on democracy seeks to change this from a nation of laws to a nation of rulers. 

Do Over Over Done

'Donald, we've won!' That's what I read on the VP's lips right after KDJT announced retribution in some form anew at his inaugural ball on his perceived foes and bogeymen. 'Why be vindictive?'  I inferred.

"I coulda been a contender. I should have won. I tried hard. I did win. They cheated. I want a do-over. "
These are phrases children utter. If this were your child, you'd rethink your child-rearing skills. When that child gets another chance and does win, what is the reaction you'd expect? 

Do they tear up the coloring book and light it on fire three times? 

Anything looking familiar here? 

I can't help thinking of movies and how they speak to us unexpectedly, often years after seeing them. That impression remains. For example, the boxer in On The Waterfront had a mentor that sealed his fate. Malloy didn't have to go along. Malloy didn't have to trust Charlie. Charlie lied. There was no do-over for Malloy. In one sense,  this meme works for minions and real men just trying to get ahead, and women too. 

In another sense, our punch drunk president has an army of submarine palookas ready to take a dive.  

We hear it over and over how we asked for it, and there is a mandate. But it's a bad !#(%ing date. 

We'd like it to be over and done.

Over and Done 

Being married three times, and to women like those, could beg the question of the motivation.  Given his history, it's a different kind of marriage. The purchased for a price kind. 

I say three, a search says three, and it is clearly a question of what the meaning of the word is once more. Perhaps we should count litigation. Anyone with multiple litigations, requited, convicted, dismissed, shelved, whatever, if it's more than 1, you wouldn't want your daughter to marry him. Maybe not even 1. 

Go ahead, find your analogy here; it's why I don't bother. Your's is a lot closer and accurate. 

Our marriage with Trump is purchased for a price too.. We are starting to know the price.

Bad day in BlackRock, hypothetically. The reconomic report points to higher inflation, and higher rates. I'm not sure how that computes, but it does indeed make sense. Tight credit would be my quess. Hints at tight money, reticent investors wanting snake oil even if they have to boil the snake. 

In politics, King DJT promised lower inflation and prices immediately, and it's past immediately and prices are rising, inflation too, housing particularly perhaps, like this is news. This should lead to lower Fed rates, but unemployment is steady, so maybe not. There are hints employment is in trouble too, or will be if the presidents edicts are allowed to go into effect. 

Can we get a count of the number of people furlowed or laid off, or sent home? It must be millions. 

All those savings in salaries, not so much furlow is paid leave.

Taxes on Mars

He brings up taxes, totally related to Elon and his escapades. He aims to find enough money to pay for his trailer on Mars.  Consider what a glass of milk would cost on Mars. Contrived? How about a piece of bread?  No you can't bake it, no you can't grow it, no you can't steal it from the natives. E v e r y  gram on Mars, I'll ask the bot. Around 30 billion per mission, assuming it's one launch vehicle not a multi staged-exorbital path.

Plus inflation, and time. I'll ask time next.

So clearly, by the time we're ready Elon will be dead, he'd be 69 in 2040, the moderate timeline, and the total cost, in multiples of 30-40 billion, a few times before people go, and in stages. Let's say 11 launches, like Apollo. I think there hare already been 3 or 4 that don't count. Ya, ->boom<-.

3 or 4 trillion dollars for the first footprint, not accounting for inflation. Inflation at 6% a year, for 25 years.

I did some math, a 300 million a year for 25 years with a 6 % inflation rate we'd spend $10,138,888,888,888, and that's probably not enough to meet the budget. (10 trillion, sans inflation 8 trillion)

I asked about the cost of a slice of bread, untoasted on Mars. Cheap.

We didn't discuss the full cost, because all Musk's BFRs blow the !#(% up.


Total Cost (per slice): $10 (packaging) + $300 (transport) + $0.25 (bread) + $5 (handling) = $315.25

Today's Work

I've nothing to do today, most of my research is secret, so I can't talk about that, and I have to use clandestine means to conduct it, as my feed is read by thieves and villains, chief among them Trump and Elon, certainly at least in their own assessment. I'd put them in whale shit. 

I can talk about GUT and time travel; none of that is in the market. That's why I can talk about it. No breadcrumbs for you.

I made significant progress here in the past few days, just letting the research collate and assemble itself in my mind. At times, I have corrected the AI bot, and it's thrilling to see it freak out, ish, when I do. This usually tells me to shut up and obfuscate, but it's time travel.  Let them eat chaos.  I do believe it is possible; the living is iffy. I'm happy with a lepton.

I had a wonder about holography in another one of the papers, the bots reply when queried was unsatisfactory.

The politics is on record, and I've got the space panel on. They are chewing the future like its a dog toy. This is a good thing; too much of the market is laissez-faire; so follow the leader. 

They are predicting Fed moves and M&A acquisition patterns.  The Fed is doing the same thing the markets are doing In the massive variety of all the crap tossed at the wastebasket, all of it has impact on the trajectory, and the waste basket moves day to day, moment to moment. 

What can you do? 

Like always, the time to buy real estate is when there is blood in the streets. I can't help it if all the streets are underwater in it. I say that in hopes that it's a virtual presence, as opposed to the reality of what were expected to react to and assimilate. I glossed over M&A. I've covered it before.

It's madness of the king. How do you look at the mess in Gaza and think about real estate development? Who in the !#(% is going to be alive when that happens, anywhere? That's just the start. He's burning the bottom of the economic scale; the streets will flood with the unemployed, homeless, health insurance poor, and importantly, probably no longer voting. They don't have an address. 

Again, somehow, this is a formula for positive change. 

I always say BA and some defense stocks, probably preferentially those that aren't already backed up with contracts, and supply chain problems pending in metals or chemicals.  That's all of them, BTW. So again, how are tariffs on these goods a positive thing?

I decided to take a look at the markets as it's early yet and I've nothing else to do at the moment. What do I check? The S&P first, then I traverse through my watch list, it's too long to paste. Looks like were the submarines coasting with the valves open, full attention on lookout for a flying Elon or Trump.

Some view volume as a key indicator often overlooked. I view it like the unemployment number, just because it infers one conclusion, that does not mean it's valid. In other words, ... volume? If you notice it, it's already too late.

Today I'm going to get though a QFT/String theory duality paper after I get through the rest of the paper on Bio TFIIH, that's the aging/intelligence gene edit project. Yeah, technologically feasible if you know what to do.

I should point out a lot of the research I see is from Germany, France, or China. A Lot of China. They need better translation engines or someone at the patent office to check spelling, ok, both.

Super Game 

You owe me a hot dog, fellas. I've heard various commentary on the game, from a wipeout to not-so-fun, to we know the best team won. There are shades of disbelief and ignorance in there as well. Next year, the game is on again. 

My take is that it was a clean-ish game, and few penalties happened. Quarterback TV guy Brady would not have called most of them nit-picky or pussy-footed. Some believe that all that bruised tissue, injury, and ... nigh on to hatred perhaps is part of the game. It's kind of an angry game.

A quarterback would know about that, but is it how he would have preferred it.

It's how I preferred it. The plays were dazzling to this neophyte, the human effort and skill were extraordinary.

It is a question we're all reticent to consider, but we're undertaking a second opinion with the week in the rearview and the shared memory of the mayhem we experienced. Not about that, about the president and this regime of Flying Monkeys and sycophants. I'm not naming names; you know who you are, and if you're comfortable with the venue, I'm sure you won't mind the hook. 

About the hook, there's no safety net in America, and no safety in the future of the Trump-doomed. If you bit the apple, get ready for the sleeping sickness Prince Charming.

Why We Voted 

There seems to be some confusion over the last election, besides the obvious question of how this valorless imp got big enough to pull the wool over America's eyes, again.  

As I said, there is confusion; imagine drawing unfounded conclusions about the outcome of an election involving Trump. When he loses, kill the umpire; when he wins, kill the umpire, with apologies to Hollywood.  That's uncomplicated and consistent, at least. 

It could be said the election was partly about the political mess created and left by a twice impeached president, who also led an insurrection to prevent the count of the official vote in congress, and who now has pardoned them, almost all of them. Stand up and stand by, wasn't that it? 

Perhaps it was partly about constant media warfare with the ex-president's unfounded lies, meaningless excuses, and countless court cases that kept the sympathy factor high in the wake of American industry and the woes of a complex, interconnected economy.. 

But it was not about:


Creating a Kingdom Trump.
 Deleting the legislative history of the past 100 years.
 Hiring henchmen to steal the wheels off the State Department.
 Putting the untrustworthy in positions of trust.
 Throwing billions more in weapons to Israel on the sly.

I'm getting weary; you take it from here.


Looking ahead, nowhere on our ToDo list do you see anything about a mandate to raise hell and brag about it.

What We Wanted 

There's no argument in the statement 'the government is free from corruption'. No one argues; we've been trying to stop it forever. Ask Mr Wonderful about it, I mean the tax rebate scam, that's one kind. Another kind is the propensity of government contracts to create billionaires and abet their idiosyncrasies. For example, Trump dangles the bait of a government-funded Mars trailer home for Elon to play chess with an empty board, where he can win, for his complicity in tearing up America.

We didn't want more of that. 

We didn't mean disconnect the machinery of government to get rid of an under-lubricated gear. Less so even for the perceived retribution and revening of a bear-clawed president with scar tissue to the moon.

I have a policy of no Encyclopedia Britannica on the blog, so for a look at what we wanted, consider our collaborative list of demands here. 

Let me sum up our expectations with a toon-ish meme since the president seems to like 'toons; he hires them because they are too 'toon to care.

I'm almost reticent to look at what part of the Constitution is at risk today. Ok, all of it.

I wish I was kidding. Can you believe this? Despot is as despot does for the whole term. 

Yesterday, he announced a statuary park for American heroes, maybe some of the people at yesterday's  National Prayer Breakfast, he remarked, like it was the newest, bestest, red-hatted-est thing he could do besides letting them kiss longer and more soulfully. 

He mentions something about 25 years, like he's in the illusory statuary park and good for the duration, or until the next president paves the road to Perdition with the rubble from it. If he builds it, ww, paint is really  cheap! This is his plan for posterity? What a plan, or did I mention that?

The Pelosi

I heard her remark yesterday, she's going to start postcard writing and protest incitement, and most of all probably, collecting oligarchy money to get back her desk and her gold-plated desk plaque. 

I think her intent is to to be the Cavalry, but it looks like Calvary, the dead body of the Democratic machine, rises again in 6 months; that's her prediction. Ya. The devil we knew.

Equal under the blog, not so much under the law, as we've seen. If you're president, you get to bring your own brooms, for all the good it would do. 

I must mention the Speaker from Louisiana, New Orleans. I have been there once, it was plenty. My lasting memory is after a late lunch, we strolled up Bourbon and a couple, one holding the other by the hoodie tossing his cookies and beignets with the Jack and soda all over the other one, who was just a bit better. Clearly they were having a good time now, and at bar preferred prices, a house payment.

So LIX, licks as Gronk quips. I can only imagine the debauchery; it's notable on a Sunday afternoon, for the Big Game it is literally the cake by the ocean, delta discounted. 

Louisiana Roullette 

But back to Whats-His-Name. I think it's Svenson or something. It was the worst one on the list a few times, and with that big fat Yellow member, well, roulette it ain't, well maybe it is in Louisiana. 

I know nothing about the Speaker, other than noticing the string from his lower jaw stretches all the way to Mar A Lago and hooks back to the White House via the random number calling with the hot breath of the beast at the other end. I said soiled diaper, it catches all the shit the baby emits and keeps it secret sometimes. But the smell, eventually, is a dead giveaway.

I just need to be fair. The problem is on both sides of the aisle; the title of worst mainly changes with the change in power. Pelosi and Trump, why haven't they dated already?

The Meta-Verse? It never even had a tune. Who wants to live with that shit on your face feeding you fake reality all day? The White House we got.

I saw Dee earlier with the spook report on the counter-insurgency underground, that's Altman and the rest of these AI experts that don't know shit about AI, but they own stock.  

I don't use any of the bots except to research biology, it's harder for you to steal ideas you don't understand.

It's no longer productive for me to discuss AI. I've completed the Emma project. My research continues, and in the end, I'll have an AI pill.

Evening Tea

I did no research today, but I learned a lot. I thought about a couple of projects in particular. One of them is the one where all the spooks are picking their belly button lint over and some GUT. 

I feel funny writing about these topics. I meant to get to bio, looks like it's retro-virus-messaging again. That's how you make new things. I considered it.

But I spent the day in the IMF, Oh, maybe two people would get it and won't see it; let's talk football. 

Some may be going green, I'd bet down to the socks and guacamole. This is like their time.  Eagles are green right? I don't know any other fans.

I have a passing interest in the game, a small personal wager. Someone who needs the money. My parley, it's a secret, Orange you win, Green you probably win anyway. I said small. 

I don't like it when winning becomes who can slug the quarterback first, best, most often, and no broken leg or concussions either. Make us get the plays, it's funner(sic) that way.

'Aight? I'll, .... consider cheering between commercials, in principle. I mentioned guacamole, didn't I? A good protein source, and in California, it is as abundant as liars in the president's cabinet. A currently non-tariffed food item.

Heads are rolling, spinning, ducking, suing, and pink slips are flying. Soon all the payments will be a mess like they are at Twitter now that no one uses it. I see opportunity. Possibilities. What could we get for Ukraine, and maybe Poland. We could trade Putin the Ukraine for the whole Middle East, including Palestinians in the parking lot; lock, stock, and intifada. Don't worry, it will work out. 

We never had it so good as Dorothy. Her cartoon characters only thought they had flaws.  The cabinet and the Congressional leadership is a whole animated film. These toon’s, Papa don’t care. Bow, kiss, move along. 

Here in the US, we’re all speechless. The Senate is led by a wet stamp, the House is led by a used diaper,  and the cabinet is chock-full-o-crooks. Even Rubio seems spellbound by VooDoo, and he was the sanest one. 

Meanwhile the entire Secret Service is protecting Trump from the Lions, Tigers, Bears, Ocelots, Panthers, Dragons and Eagles  A ridiculous force this morning, there's a prayer breakfast.

Trump stood there like the Almighty with Bibi on his right hand like a quiver waiting for arrows, and he sold us his Middle East Peace Amusement Park and Whorery nee Gaza. A little later after the dust settled when he realized what he said, he redacted his mouth. By the time Netanyahu picked his right wing off of the floor the second time Trump was insisting we do it without any American troops on the ground.

Bibi don’t care how they expire, but he’d rather have someone else pay for it, he was raised that way.  We’ve been willing to pay. There's a party in Jerusalem, as sick as that sounds. It's as sick as it sounds. 

Trump is looking for any red-light on a street in New Orleans at 2 AM. He needs to dump some mojo or invade somewhere. Bibi is just the dictator, and his cabinet is just the ticket. Trump can watch and take credit and not get dirty.

I don't use AI much anymore, lately I do chemical analysis of materials. I'm actually mostly a chemistry guy, bio and not.  I run past the bots so fast they are basically poor Chem300 assistants with anything cellular. I guess I like the concept. We would'nt want them improving on the design.

The AI stuff, I work on a new algorithm once in awhile. It's a complete project, for now. I have some side projects that are siderealiy related, but everything I do is siderally related.  I could say quantum, but why dither.

AI at retail devolves into a per-prompt toolset, only a rich man would build on someone else's LM, and certainly not anything Oracle or Ellison. The use case is voice of course, but idealy that's a terminal input device, thats all. Over lunch I got sucked into a QCD rabbit hole, and pulled along, riding the virtual photon, past the speed of YouTube and right smack into Journal télévisé de Paris territory. I guess I need to explain. That's what once happened to me some years ago after a day of shopping with a non-French speaking sister, and working the translation and exchange rate scales, well, the nightly news wore me down.  

It was the 50th Anniversary of QCD, and it's still broken really. This effort is huge, great thought, great men, great guesses, thank you all. I keep looking for a rule set that works that I can work with. Today I saw light in quantum spaghetti with Susskind; he was obsessing on containment, and other developments, skimming really. Reminiscing perhaps. Dinner talk. With some of the Math. Fun.

I spent a part of the day yesterday on chemistry patents, one in particular that caught my eye, very complex, very exacting, very accurate; a  patent of China. I blinked. I can't tell you what process, what chemistry. I resolved it is so much easier to make new things with things that already exist.  I compared it with my own thoughts, theirs less intuitive more rigorous, difficult, meticulous. They had lost me at intuitive, rigor is for bots.

The best way to get control is to make a mess and then declare it so. Are we all tracking? 

I'd paste a litany of the names of these men, and they are all men, but I think it's obvious I respect that research and knowledge that led you here, and that is my continued expectation.

Evening Tea

It was a cool day, some hazy sun, no wind, and cold. Here in SoCal, cold is defined as under 75 degrees in the shade.  I'm ready for dinner, no tea.  I'm uncomfortable with all this air disaster, I don't know how else to put it.

I like to pause in the morning over coffee and tea, and again, there's no tea, and consider what I will do for the day. I have so many projects and interests I never wonder long. As I said, I start the day with a blank chalkboard, and at times the next step reorders my priorities.

Depending on the day and the current Trump dumpster fire I turn to the news or watch the markets. I have low friends in high places, and vice versa, excepting the pond scum, vampires, and whale extracts.

 Today I picked the markets, because I read all about Bombardier jets yesterday, and I learned something about the secret presidential escape routes by helo when someone in the world besides us calls Ol' Yellow's bluff. 

Money's Movements

I've known Carl Q since he floated in wearing  brown loafers on the Today show on NBC, and Carl is a good sort. We had a clandestine meeting in Starbucks in an alternate reality; he was dressed from the Gap with a well worn Rolex and a sharp cut fade. He smelled like soap, and his collar was too tight. I asked about the family. 

So I guess that's the real side of his temporary permanent day job, until or when they sell the chairs he sits on we'll find out if his kids are going to college.

Business glosses over the human cost of ... business. Layoffs and inflation are real things to a nice man like Carl and the fam. And to you too.

I will follow up on the integrals, I'll leave it to others to critique the proofs. The conclusions are logical and consistent with my knowledge and intuitions. As I said, there are evident exceptions that are not part of the proof and are not covered. I'm passing on the proof, but I'm looking at the relativity mathematics.
