The Agenda
I've been super productive on Saturdays lately, and I may happen today, depending on the definition of happen. I've work piled everywhere, and code to review, and we're all getting older evey day, except for me. I plan on living forever, if it takes forever.
In BioChemistry
I wonder if I should share the list I need to work through. I've been through a few of these once or twice, and some are in the LM I'm building for Immunity and Aging, I removed those in the Theoretical Physics LM I'm building. What do you do with your free time, Mr President? Sleeve time and B-shots?
A there is one on decision making which is very thorough, and has useful algorithms.

The resource elasticity of control
https://elifesciences.org/reviewed-preprints/105507v1
the value of initiating a pursuit in temporal decision-making
Quote from https://elifesciences.org/reviewed-preprints/105507v1
Knowing the elasticity of control is necessary for deciding whether and how to act. Failing to achieve one's goal, for example, should only lead one to invest more resources in an elastic environment. Critically, in many real-life domains (e.g., studying for an exam), we must use our experiences to infer the degree to which we can improve our outcomes by investing more resources16-20. Failure to do so is bound to result in maladaptive behavior, and may thus contribute to mental health disorders. Depressed patients, for instance, are less willing to expend their resources to obtain control21,26-27, which could result from an underestimation of elasticity. Conversely, the repetitive actions that characterize obsessive compulsive disorder patients24 could indicate that such patients overestimate elasticity, believing that the additional efforts they invest will yield progressively better outcomes. Ultimately, not having a good grasp of how one's additional efforts influence outcomes is bound to undermine one's sense of agency 14-15.
If you don't want to read all that.... Here's a summary.
Summary
Okay, I've read the preprint "The resource elasticity of control" by Solomyak et al. Here's a thorough comment, focusing on the psychopathology linkage, testing, and results, as you requested:
Summary of the Study
The study investigates how people understand and utilize "elasticity of control." The authors argue that in real-world situations, control over outcomes often depends on the amount of resources (effort, time, money) invested. This is "elasticity of control." They developed a treasure hunt game to test if people infer this elasticity, if individual differences in this inference lead to maladaptive resource use, and if these differences are associated with psychopathology.
Psychopathology Linkage
Rationale:
The authors connect the concept of control and its misestimations to various psychopathologies. They hypothesize that:
Underestimation of elasticity (or control) could be related to depression (reduced willingness to expend resources).
Overestimation of elasticity could be related to obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) (repetitive actions based on a belief that more effort will yield better outcomes).
Overall, a poor understanding of how effort influences outcomes undermines the sense of agency, a key factor in mental health.
Measurement:
Participants completed self-report questionnaires assessing:
Sense of Agency (SOA)
Dysfunctional attitudes towards problem-solving (NPOQ)
Temperamental differences (TEMPS-A)
A selection of questionnaires assessing Anxious-depression, Compulsive behavior and intrusive thought, and Social withdrawal.
Analysis:
Canonical Correlation Analysis (CCA) was used to examine the relationship between model parameters (representing individual biases in elasticity inference) and the psychopathology scores.
Results:
CCA showed a significant correlation between model parameters and psychopathology measures.
The elasticity prior parameter (γelasticity) had the highest loading, suggesting its strong contribution to the correlation.
Psychopathology loadings were dominated by impaired sense of agency (SOA), obsessive-compulsive symptoms (OCD), and social anxiety (LSAS).
Depression scores (SDS) received a negative loading, aligning with the idea of reduced resource expenditure in depression.
A distinct psychopathological profile involving a distorted sense of agency was associated with a bias in elasticity inference.
Testing
Task Design:
The "treasure hunt game" was innovative in its attempt to separate controllability and elasticity.
Participants made choices about how many "tickets" to buy to increase their chances of boarding a vehicle to a treasure location.
Planets varied in:
Inelastic controllability (probability of success with one ticket)
Elastic controllability (degree to which extra tickets increased success)
This design allowed the researchers to examine how participants adjusted their resource investment based on the environment's properties.
Computational Modeling:
The authors developed two competing reinforcement-learning models:
Controllability model: Learns the control afforded by each level of resource investment separately.
Elastic controllability model: Infers the elasticity of control.
Model comparison showed that the elastic controllability model better explained participants' behavior, suggesting that people do infer elasticity.
The models were fitted to participants' choices to derive individual biases in elasticity inference.
Strengths of Testing:
The task was designed to be sensitive to overestimation of elasticity.
The use of computational modeling provided a quantitative way to assess individual differences in elasticity inference.
The inclusion of both an initial study and a replication study strengthens the findings.
Pre-registration of the studies increases transparency and reduces the risk of bias.
Results
Key Findings:
People infer the elasticity of control and adapt their resource allocation accordingly.
Individual biases in elasticity inference (particularly overestimation) lead to a mismanagement of resources.
Overestimation of elasticity is associated with elevated psychopathology involving an impaired sense of agency.
Interpretation:
These results suggest that the elasticity of control is a distinct cognitive construct that guides adaptive behavior.
They also provide a computational marker for control-related maladaptive behavior.
The findings highlight the importance of understanding how people learn and utilize information about the relationship between effort and control in both typical and atypical behavior.
Comments and Considerations
Strengths:
The study is well-designed and executed, with a clear research question, appropriate methodology, and rigorous analysis.
The use of a novel task and computational modeling is a strength.
The findings have important implications for understanding the cognitive and neural mechanisms underlying control-related behavior and psychopathology.
Limitations and Points for Further Research:
The authors acknowledge that the task is simpler than real-life scenarios, and that elasticity biases are likely to be amplified in more complex environments.
The study design was particularly sensitive to overestimation of elasticity. Future studies could investigate the underestimation of elasticity and its potential relationship to different psychopathological profiles (e.g., depression).
The correlational nature of the findings does not establish causality. Longitudinal studies are needed to determine the causal relationship between elasticity biases and psychopathology.
Further research could investigate how elasticity biases vary across different resource types (e.g., money, time, effort).
Overall, the study provides compelling evidence that people infer the elasticity of control and that biases in this inference are associated with psychopathology. The findings contribute to our understanding of the cognitive and computational mechanisms underlying control-related behavior and have potential implications for the development of interventions for mental health disorders.

Leadership
The function of leadership is to leadl to do the right thing and be willing to be held accountable for it. Such as it is with Senator Schumer, for whom the bell tolls.
Our apparent choice in the matter, whether we want one set of bad outcomes, or another set of bad outcomes; the problem definition statement for judgement and the function of leadership.
On another level, the definition of judgment and leadership should include avoiding no win situations.
It seems both ends of the same table are at opposite ends. My personal opinion is a matter for my thoughts, the blog speaks for the spirit of the forces that govern it.
Perhaps America does need more than 2 guillotines.
Just A Reminder
Thanks, Mr. Joe. When you stop a thing, it just doesn't stop.

Evening Tea
Another day, another sunny day in California, by 4 pm Pacific. Cool for us, high of 56F, two sweaters and a parka. I've not been able to work much the past few days, I've been distracted. Work much, in front of a computer doing research, but I forget that most of my most productive time is free associated time, with no objectives. Often when I've thought enough I have to find a way for a bot to do ninety pecent of it in a parallel universe, the other 10 the namespace changes and other parts materialize with the real use case implementation.
We made a scripted a web interface disguised as Magic 8 Ball awhile ago. (gasp) I told. That kind of thing.
It's ok though, we have 4 years or until Trump finds much warmer climes.
Emma
I just have to talk about Emma. I have just a couple objectives still, and we've four years. I've tried to visualize where Emma ever ends. This is so much the same problem I've had for 20 years, subsuming the Earth. Same Earth /smile. I'll have an AI generated an image, give me a minute.
Earth is down there. Actually, if you knew you'd see the similarity, but then I'd have to get elected president and kill you.
I'd buy this bike. Triumph, obsidian in color.
I should comment, this image was generated by ArtAI. text to image, and I post processed it with Adobe Lightroom.
ArtAI is free, I think. Lightroom is a great tool for exactly what it is named. It's hard not to want to post like that. it should be $5 though, that's all it does.
Other Projects
In the category of absolutely achievable and definitely beneficial, but much more complicated than one of my time travel novels, biochemistry is ever-present and continuous. I just felt I should mention The Magic Sands and Sand Castles.
When I'm dead maybe I can get them published.
They are way less complicated than an ORF, purposefully, like these columns, the smarter you are, the player you have fun.
Post Markets
Another day another sell off, and someone suggests if you don't like the look of the stock price, look at the moving average. Spoken like a broker with will-be-broker clients. Fade in...
Fast Money
Melissa and some of the regulars are masticating the market data. Officially a correction, meaning it's going lower. What ever could stop it. I muse...
How about a war, maybe we could start something, to boost consumer confidence. No? How about tariffs, as you know, that's price increases, and that's inflation and its right here in Panorama City.
Cue the band.
Panama, I bet if we took it over we'd generate a boom in the defense industry at least, small arms, concrete, uniforms, bug spray, tetanus shots. No? How about Greenland, pretty much the same result, and outcome, same inventory, less bug spray except in summer, but you would not want to be there in winter. No?
Let's face it, it's grab what you can and run for the exits for the president, 35 trilllion worth of sneaker money. Elon fetch.
He's already Made America a !#(%ing Mess Again.
Guy, how's Walmart? That was the darling. Target, also spotted. (pun) WMT actually has better upside IMO, more scale and online cred.
Afternoon Tea
It's cool here in California this afternoon, rain threatening, but spotty. If should clear by sunset, just in the nick of twilight. A good sunset.
Misanthropic
If not now, when? After the military occupies the universities and state houses? For ...national security.
Major Pete
Running for County Fair Commisioner, ok. Much more, and I'd have to say no. He'd look spic and span standing next to the prize milk producer Ella, the Guernsey, blue ribbon and safety pin.
Vaunted Talking Heads
I have similar trouble. I can never figure out if there is a a joke or what, either way it's not funny, and nothing to aspire to; bigotry becomes a Republican horse inevitably.
My own stance is, I can be correct as !#(% but if you don't read it because it's boring, it has no impact.
Dems Going Forward
(hopefully forward)
For republicans, that's not a quantum oscillator, it's a top spinning on the end of a string by the math.
The other thing (-ħ²/2m) * (d²ψ(x)/dx²) + (1/2)kx²ψ(x) = Eψ(x).
I can support the case for it, you can read this analysis, in which our current state is predicted, and a resolution proven. The full analysis, available here.
What would be the outcome if PPI followed inflation and upper bracket tax increases and increased social spending?
Thus, the perfect environment for progressive change, as it will be a crisis almost everywhere. We could be in a real war too.
Whether Democrats sell progressive policy is irrelevant, the policy is the thing.
Sundipped Thursday
It is early in California. I've just finished breakfast, and I'm holding the warmth of my coffee in both hands. The weather app says rain around 9, and continuing most of the day. Looking through the window I see a patch of blue.
Metaphor. If it's Thursday or Sunday, it's sundipped.
The Ghost In the Machine
Automatic Autocracy
Doubtfully Democratic
Common Ground
The Ghost in the Machine
Elon can hire men to build a robot to make a robot, and a robot to make a car, but no one can make a human that can make a robot that can make a robot that can make a car. That's just the way it was architected, Earth and people I mean. As long as there are people. Not robot people, people with a soul. There is a ghost in our govenmental machine, still.
Automatic Autocracy
We've watched the script play out, Project 2025, a pre-made plan to take control of the government, by inches, across a wide front, all at the same time. Tariffs, layoffs, whole departments disappearing, departments full of people that served people, created by people to serve the people's interest in a people's democracy.
Step by step, inch by inch. Slowly the president turns, waiting for us all to drop to our knees where called for in the script. The script he says he has not read, but it's in the edicts and memoranda that he signs every day. He usually asks what he's signing. Something like:
"That is this? ... That's good right?"
Maybe, maybe not.
Trust me, it's not.
Doubtfully Democratic
It is no mystery, that there are two major parties in America, one made for the people, by the people, and of the people, the other made for money and people with too much money and people that don't care about people, who would rather build robots. Whim and whimsey and politics also feed the presidential office slush funds to grease the skids of autocracy. External Revenue, the term. What? Again the president is not shy, he told Maine, for example:
"You'll do it or you' 'll lose all your Federal Funding.'
Never mind that there is no law, or little precedent, nevermind that it may be illegal, nevermind that it is destructive, nevermind that it ruins people's lives.
Elon, quote:
"With robots we can have an unlimited GDP, people never work more than half the time, I've seen it."
Which of course is incorrect and a gross oversimplification. What product could a robot make that people who don't have a job could afford to buy? Certainly not an overpriced electric vehicle, especially those.
They say they make mistakes. No kidding.
There are other fault checks in humanity, among them humanity itself, which is wont to respond in inhuman ways in periods of inhuman conditions. The end game in many things, is blood in the streets. The mystery is why it is still necessary to create destruction to achieve progress. There's no accounting for it besides the will of the misguided and their men.
As long as there are people there is hope, there is a ghost in all our machines.
And there are no robots in the voting booths, yet.
Common Ground
We're not dead yet, and much of the raging market is raging down, TSLA in particular begging for a short contract or a put option. I'd put a target at 170, that 2 years' worth of equity, Private equity mostly, a few robot-men, up the spout.
The markets too, seem to have more interest in people than robots, and the markets writ large are following TSLA and the rest of the NASDAQ SOUEST. Also noted, Trillions in 401K lost, accounts owned by people, not robots.
The Red team doubles down, as a rule. The new proposed continuing resolution in the Senate has more robot-autocratic measures, these legislated if they are allowed to pass. To put it in ink, an immeasurable loss to our democracy, one inch at a time.
The Senate shoiuld call their bluff. It's the ghosts.
Like I said, blue sky above our common ground, and two guillotines, no waiting, for the robot kings. Handmade in the USA, if you insist.

This is a chart for the DOW, I don't use the DOW for a metric, except as something the network economics reporters prop up as it's serious chyron territory. "DOW DOwn Down down" "Wallstreet Lays An Egg" and etc. When a flock of canaries in a coal mine all die at once, I guess you pick up on it.
So, the DOW is where it was a year ago, and heading SOUEST at a clip. I'd take the first and second derivatives, volume as amplitude if you like. I'm intrigued now, I wonder if it curls, or diverges, or what. Sometimes the data needs to be selected with care or it's noise. well, it's too much for me to visualize without more thought, and I'm busy.

We’re at war here, globally, locally, independently, left, right, center, and airborne; All of us seem to be at each other‘s scaffolding. Meanwhile, the real scaffolding of the life of Americans is disappearing before our eyes, like it’s a magic trick, met by apologies for reckless endangerment of families and livelihood. The landscape is begging for a drop, and rain is illegal in this administration.
Like many fever dreams, there is the awakening. Perhaps this is the awakening, the dried up fever dreams of the misguided but funded, running the same snake oil that has always worked, brought to fruition by edict, and faucet.
They say not to awaken a sleepwalker.
Fevered Dreamers
They would call a readjustment, a transition from public to private funding. In many cases instead of working for the government and doing something good for people, the disillusioned and malefacted can get a job doing something designed to squeeze money out of the disadvantaged and the poor to the advantage of the wealthy. Something like driving an Uber, delivering takeout food, walking the dog, cleaning an apartment; most of the things that you couldn’t ever afford to pay someone to do, if you are lucky, and if you can find another job.
Now in this New World order in America, all things become possible, if you have the money. Unfortunately, you don’t have the money and you’re not going to have the money, Elon will make sure.
In this new way, what private funds our after-school reading programs and the like? I ask rhetorically.
Men have always conceived new punishments and advantages. It's the trend in a Trump administration. He has a mandate.

The left and right battle; the perception of grave difference in particular, drives the id of our political landscape. There is a middle to many issues. The middle of many issues depends on the definition of the word. Beyond statistics, there is responsibility.
Senator Fetterman appears to have a deviated corpus callosum as his right brain doesn’t seem to be talking to anything else but his other right brain and both of them are wrong most of the time, you can quote me on that.
Perhaps he should have his iPad do a Google search for what being a Democrat means. I just did, and in that context I struggle with his viewpoints except as exceptional or boundary conditions in a perfect world. This is not a perfect world.
Next time perhaps the Senator could spellcheck that description, proofread it with Grammarly, and send it off to Donald Trump for his approval before he reads it to a reporter. What would survive that edit, we need not wonder long.
The odd thing in many reporter's notebook, always good for saying the quiet part out loud, they seek the Senator out, especially if it makes a headline, Senator Fetterman was elected to protect us from the other guy, and it turns out like Pogo and the other trash bin, the other guy is him.
I guess it’s warmer by the dumpster fire.

Yes, that is the Trump MALFCNT bubble. Air that was once a 401K.
Markets
I've been watching the talking heads, some of them trying to spin the market action today as something positive. They obviously don't follow politics, just someone else's spin.
The Beam Team
Same reels playing here, a long line of grayed heads advising caution and optimism in the face of mismanagement on a scale no one has ever seen before. It's a Friday, usually this is a GTFO day, I guess they got.
I didnt catch the Fed Chair, maybe I'll have a bot summarize the transcript. I find I have so much more time when I can cut a corner like this, I don't really have much of an interest in briefcase or phraseology predictions.
This was a cold bot, un prepped with other material besides the different speeches, a limited context, and this is just a summary.
MMM's Summary of Chair Powell's Pressers
This is a transcript of Chair Powell's Press Conference on January 29, 2025, where he discussed the Federal Open Market Committee's decision to maintain the target range for the federal funds rate at 4¼ to 4½ percent.
Powell noted that the economy is strong overall, with the labor market remaining solid and inflation having moved closer to the 2 percent longer-run goal, although it remains somewhat elevated. He emphasized that the committee is not on any preset course and will adjust policy as needed, based on incoming data and the evolving outlook. The committee is also conducting a five-year review of its monetary policy framework, with the 2 percent inflation goal remaining unchanged.
Powell addressed questions about the Fed's independence, stating that the Fed will continue to operate independently of politics, focusing on its dual mandate goals. He also discussed the potential impact of new administration policies, such as tariffs and immigration, noting that the committee is in a wait-and-see mode to assess their implications for the economy.
Okay, let's integrate this new speech by Chair Powell into the previous understanding of the Fed's stance.
Key Updates and Context:
Continued Economic Strength:
Powell reaffirms that the U.S. economy remains in a "good place," with solid growth and a strong labor market.
He acknowledges potential moderation in consumer spending and heightened uncertainty, but sentiment readings have been unreliable predictors.
Labor Market Balance:
The labor market is described as "solid and broadly in balance," with moderating wage growth and a narrowing jobs-to-workers gap.
This suggests that the labor market is no longer a significant driver of inflationary pressure.
Inflation Progress and Challenges:
Inflation has come down significantly, but recent readings remain slightly above the 2 percent target.
Powell emphasizes that the path to 2 percent will be "bumpy" and that the Fed will not overreact to short-term fluctuations.
Tariffs are now being mentioned by surveyed groups as a cause of rising near term inflation expectation.
Longer-term inflation expectations remain stable.
Monetary Policy Stance:
The Fed is taking a "wait and see" approach, given the uncertainty surrounding the new administration's policy changes (trade, immigration, fiscal, and regulatory).
Powell reiterates that policy is not on a preset course and that the Fed is prepared to adjust as needed, depending on incoming data.
The current policy stance is seen as well positioned to handle current risks.
Monetary Policy Framework Review:
The Fed has begun its second five-year review of its monetary policy framework.
The 2 percent inflation goal will be retained.
The review will focus on adapting the Fed's approach based on lessons learned and will include public outreach and a research conference.
In essence, Powell's speech reinforces the following:
The Fed is cautiously optimistic about the economy but remains vigilant about inflation.
The Fed is prioritizing flexibility and data dependence in its policy decisions.
The Fed is very aware of the potential impacts of new governmental policies.
The Fed is committed to its 2 percent inflation target and is actively reviewing its policy framework to ensure its effectiveness.
Never Would Have Happened
I Look at the markets. It never would have happened if it wasn't for Trump's constant undermining and lying to Americans, so much so that he managed to get re-elected and !#(% everything up all over again, like the real last term. There was Obama's economy, and by the end of Trump's term, we were all knee deep in sheep dip by any measure. We're just emerging, only to plunge deeper and harder into the marrow of American economic wealth. The wealth that is every American; their security, their personal growth, their carreer, their 401K, their job, their family.
If only Trump could have made these same mistakes before, none of this would have ever happened. He's on a roll. We'd already be dead.
A War With iran
Never would have happened, for example. By now both sides would have lost the war.

Sundipped Thursday
I awoke this morning and had breakfast, a little coffee, a nice walk and meditation. In the peace and quiet, a 3/4 inflated orange balloon drifted by, skipping along on the landscape. I heard it before i saw it. Such as it is in politics and the markets. The markets are limit-down and out. Meanwhile, it's still Thursday; if it is Thursday or Sunday, it's sundipped.

Don The Mack's Unprecedented Amateur Hour
If you have a 401K, and a pulse, it's quicker lately. If you don't have a pulse, you may already be dead, so never mind, it's someone else's problem. The rest of you, tune in to what's on every outlet everywhere and in print anywhere the print is fit to read, and there are exceptions.
The Republicans call it imperfect, like a doggie bag will fix it. Besides, when he !#(%s up, he blames it on Biden.
I wonder what this knob does? That's the apparent method.
Read My Lips
We see all this activity, and we're also noting that we do seem to mind more than a little bit. We can't rely on issuing a shit-coin to pay for a retirement bunker on Fiji. If you ever hope to retire someday, It's your money too. Presidents have talked before and it's been clear when they were lying, or just ... unprepared or unfit for the office. As if we could reliably read a lip in this case; we're lost as we are training on the model based on the adage, 'a politician is only lying when their lips are moving'. It's what the president is feeding us. We're not so dumb though.
So, besides passing the burden of the budget on everyday people to support a tax cut for the wealthy and enabling the sovereign wealth fund, your personal slush and graft pool disguised as the country's money, what else are you up to, King Crooked? It's money you would use in both cases to curry favor with your chosen, your few and the willingly untrustworthy.
That's what I read in the spaces between the words, and the markets agree.
A Fool and His Office
I'd say it in French, but my nuance is limited by my limited vocabulary. ...Are soon parted, to finish the thought. This too shall pass, was another that happened to be on he same neural pathway as all the other disasters connected with fools in my semantic.
I'm quite sure this is foolish behavior. It is also not working, at all.
His plan to slowly manipulate public opinion by changing America into Hungary with Elon's help one small cut at a time, is now bleeding enough to attract the attention of those that have blood.
Turnabout, maybe he rethought matters. Maybe the other party kicked in a counter offer, perhaps they bought some shit-coin from him for example. We'll never know. The people hired to watch for this kind of thing, were fired. The people who work at the complaint line for people unfairly fired were fired too. The Justice Department is blind period.
Likewise, we bleed everywhere Elon can spell the letters above the door. CFPB, CDC, IRS, SSA, VA and etc. DOG with an E. Fetch and beg Elon.
But the blood is trending.

Jeff Zeleny on CNN tis morning, quote, 'Sometimes he giveth, sometimes he taketh away." was meant to express the daily, sometimes hourly flip-flop on tariffs.
Trump himself boldly has announced many times that he is a man on a mission from God. Contextually that would mean the media is a Voice of America speaker tied on the top with a rope, the unqualified FBI and Justice driving the beat up black and white.
This Blues Brothers Show and Review shit has got to go.

Van Jones, Axelrod, grandfathered in to the willing fools club. Axelrod for the beige, Van for the better living through AfroAmerican compensatory authority. They need the vote, beige and brown. I didn't say WOKE. That's bad English grammar. One does not minimize the struggle with single syllables, say the whole paragraph.
Rick what's his face could run, and there are all kinds of rich !#(%s with nothing to do. It would be an invitation to maybe turn CA red. I'd advise her to form a law firm and lobby, work that end of the struggle and leave politics to the dogs. !#(% the comeback, do the work.

Evening Tea
Chinese for dinner, and I have a sourdough thing for desert with orange soda. No tea.
It was a mixed day. I find myself increasingly looking for inovative ways to minimize stress inducing activities and circumstances, and on a day like today when I manaage to escape, when i return I feel like I walked into an abatoir.
Chaos du Marche
My goodness. I have friends in the markets, on the tube, I mean, they seem friends, as I feel I know them, and I can read their body language and... well you know, you can tell right? Most of them looked like they were sitting on a large frozen egg today. No thaw even in the thought process. The talk of course is capital preservation; where to run next is where the rest of the market goes, that's the statistically obvious bet, and everyone has a different originating differential, initially.
I have models, and I comment often that a predictive model will accurately predict chaos in a chaotic market.
If I had a spare brain i'd consider the motivational behavior at work here, beyond game theory and a zero sum.
Biochem Today
I worked briefly on aging today, a few papers, mice, AL, aging in women. I wonder how many I must grok to be considered accomplished. The problems are certainly complex enough.
Algorithmic Decisions
I read a paper on effective decision making, and fed it to MMM to extract the algorithms and generate code in Python. It took some doing to get something useful, but MMM is ok smart if you use the right sentences. I have not run it yet. I'm currently studying Gemini's trimming algorithms, and I wondered what a more abstract view would yeild. Neuroscience: The value of initiating a pursuit in temporal decision-making link
I don't use a similar architecture.
So that was most of my day, less the lemon and purple projects proper. I did some vector calculus on rain drops while daydreaming.

Getting Won
Would happen if I ran, and that's the issue. I dunno, I might. I don't want money or fame or power, so what would I do with it if I had it?
I'm usually pretty busy, have your people call someone's people. I would like to see the look on Pelosi's face.
I don't think I'd want Panama or Greenland or Canada, first thing, last or any other thing. Derangement. He's enamored himself of the image of a marble statue in DC, never to be built.
The Other White Fool
Mars, are you kidding? I did a study, a piece of Wonderbread, $300, a PB&J, $900, powdered milk, $300 a gram. Water, too expensive to drink, priceless because it's vital, and a conserved resource, so it's recycled urine in practicality. Life in Elon's trailer home with WiFi on Mars, like a half a million a day to fuel, feed, in consumables and support not including transportation to Mars. First landing without all those bells and whistles, 11-15 trillion and 30 years and not accounting for inflation.
It's in the feed.
He may want to reconsider the 'on landing' choice. A lot cheaper.
Elon is short sighted. Today he predicted robot workers would create unlimited GDP, except with no workers and no salary, there is nothing the robots could build that anyone could afford, so it's an unlimited economic depression. He doesn't do the math all the way through. He has no business doing what he is doing.
[60 percent of people didn't watch Mr Pilgrim.]
Bird Brains
Chickens catch the virus from wild birds, who'd probably be attracted to the feed splayed around. Good plan.
Il Pleut
Merde! optional, in these times of turmoil in Europe, we've plenty of merde, when it rains il pleut.
It is raining in California, sort of an annoying NYC late winter squal feel to it, cold, a little wind, and drip drip drip, with flooded corners in places; an umbrella is an unused accessory mostly. Boots, though. Still, the sound of the water moving under traffic in splashes is sort of soothing, wet noise? Is that a thing?
The Markets
The markets were scary this morning, and shaky this afternoon. Someone shoot the piano player or something.
Tariff On Tariff Off
President Miagi make up your market. We're expected to applaud and ooo and ahh at the master manipulator, whose tweets move markets, and he accomplishes nothing but illustrating what an amateur he is. He would not get away with this shit in business even if his name was Disney.

It's a lovely day, perfect for me anyway. Sunny, not too, slight breeze, 66 and sunny.
Misanthropic's Arena
I'm not sure I understand the arena metaphor here, it's a little two-men-enter one-man-leaves in my semantic, not that there would be anything out os sync with the current political environment, because it would not be.
Lead on Capt Walker, I call dibs on the left rudder. (pronounced wooah cur)
I'm casting VP JD as Blaster. Or maybe Elon. Or maybe a long list.
The You-Craine
I'm all out of trust me it's just talk. As I said earlier, we've invested in Ukraine, and European interests, WWI on is a good measure for our will and commitment here, that did not change. A better position is staunch adherence to those values, there's no win here if the fuhrer gets to keep the Sudetenland again.
My assessment is that Russia is weakened, and is out of fodder for the grist mill. Putin will age out, we should hold out.
Work Related
A minor setback in the project Purple today, but not really, so today I'm drawing pictures; crayon, a fat blue one, on construction paper. I said setback in that a tool I was hopeful to use may work later on, and is not on the critical path right now. 35 minutes of research and onward, I drew pictures. Often I can feed the pictures to MMM and get code.
I should work on biochemistry, I have a pile of related papers to work through that support the research, Aging and autoimmune, you will recall. I've sort of adopted the stance that the body is constantly at war with itself, incomplete chemistry, mutation, recurring inflammation, contributory factors, environment, and heredity foremost potentially.
Crazy Daze
Oh my goodness Martha, look at the tulips. It's near that time I predict. I recall Central Park in spring, the daffodils, maybe April? I forget. Here in California, it's one lovely day after another. Everywhere, there is barely any time to blink between electro-shock-therapy reports.
Da Speech
I predict the best non-state-of-the-union talking-to by a temporary president anyone has ever seen. No one will have seen anything like it, ever, or again. We hope. And we still have hope, so much that I started this sentence with an article. I said temporary didn't I; Freudian or prescient? Like I would differentiate.
I suppose it's beyond the realm of possibility that Jesus himself will appear and dictate to the huddled masses of Congress and the media. The personage, glowing like someone spray painted the image of a much younger man over his whole face, not smiling though.
Wait, that's not Jesus.
But sure, I'll probably attempt to keep up with the lies and misconceptions in the talking-to this evening. I assume they check Congress for weapons, right? I felt like I needed to inquire about the security, I know some of them carry. I had a fleeting thought of who J.D. Vance could morph into sans the Big Yellow Bird. Nevermind, that's not something we can even hope for. How's the cardiac check up though?
We'll all outlive this administration. Brake harder in the turns especially.

Did Scott Pilgrim just suggest someone besides the current president is making balloon animals, and Gaza Plaza videos ? I assume by contrast that's the statesmanship he's defending: Greenland, Panama, Canada, Kiev, Gaza, and where next, Moscow?
As diplomacy, it's childish if you believe what he tell us. Or it could be he's sold America out for mineral rights.
Ribbentrop II meets Chamberlain. "I hold here on this paper to seal the contract for half of all mineral rights in what is left of Ukraine..." until Putin invades the remainder of Ukraine, and Poland, then we'll renegotiate terms.
But he won't be president than, maybe king.
Propriety of the Office
The president of the US should not act like this. The VP acted like a proper pogue.

As the mentor of Mayor Adoms, what is the point of this interview besides politics?
"Gemini, as a congressperson, what are today's most talked about topics?"
Based on current trends and information, here are some of the most talked-about topics in Congress in 2025:
Fiscal Policy:
The national debt and budget appropriations are always key concerns. Debates surrounding spending cuts, tax policies, and the debt ceiling are prominent.
Specifically in 2025, the expiration of key provisions from the 2017 tax law is driving intense discussions about tax overhauls.
Economic Issues:
Inflation, economic growth, and job creation remain top priorities.
Discussions about trade policies, regulations, and support for businesses, especially small businesses, are ongoing.
Healthcare:
Access to affordable healthcare, prescription drug costs, and the future of programs like Medicare and Medicaid are consistently debated.
Immigration and Border Security:
Border security, immigration reform, and the handling of undocumented immigration continue to be highly contentious issues.
National Security:
International relations, defense spending, and cybersecurity threats are major areas of focus.
Concerns regarding foriegn conflicts, and providing aid to allies are very prevalent.
Energy and Environment:
Climate change, renewable energy, and environmental regulations are subjects of intense debate.
Discussions regarding domestic energy production, and the balance of that production with environmental concerns are ongoing.
Technology and Cybersecurity:
The regulation of technology companies, data privacy, and cybersecurity threats are increasingly important topics.
To get a very current view of what is being discussed on the house floor, you can check resources like:
The U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO): This provides reports and analyses on various government programs and issues.
Congressional news outlets: Websites such as Politico, and those of the Associated Press, provide up to date reporting on congressional proceedures.
The official website of the U.S. House of Representatives: This site provides information on bills, resolutions, and floor activity.
I hope this information is helpful.

Fast Money
I inferred the T rate was low as no one was buying, no demand, or is that too counter intuitive? I'll check CBOE for todays volume or supporting material. Volume looks flat, some intermarket trading, the blip perhaps after close.
I think indicates money flow.

Digital larceny. There is no asset about these issues. Manipulatable if you own all of it or can influence the price, or threaten to fire someone and ruin their life if they don't do what they are told.
What is your assessment, ya?
The Day Ahead
I never really plan my day, of course, I'm never contrary to plan, so there is no metric; maybe I do, in my head. I planned to work on Lemon for the past few days, which is somewhat of a different thing than perhaps for you. My intuition rocks, so I don't need no leaking chatbots. So OT on the QT just between you and me. Purple this morning. I'm into geometry, and it's multidimensional, so, bend your head or the space, I always say.
Maybe an experiment today, maybe.
Unplanned Territory
I was discussing SUSY and boundary conditions and branes with MMM and asked her to free associate an image of a particle, I think it's a lepton, then a hydrogen atom and a single electron. Think of the lines as really stong spaghetti stretched over a bubble, thicker where it intersects another, glued together sort of.
There is very little math here, just concepts, so curb your enthusiasm. Maybe there's math, could be. I didn't give her much though. Just what she's read in the papers that I've fed her, maybe. That could be a lot.
See? No multiversal Spiderman or Dormammu, just the void and a different kind of glue.

My Day
Today I'm working on the purple project, me and mauve baby. I also discussed Q with MMM for a time today, but obfuscation is difficult at this stage, so I have to used my brain a little more and not so much the other half. I have a great Q reading list, if you're interested.
I'm getting accustomed to the larger keyboard and track pad on the new diva. As I explained, it appears to be a completely new unit, a benefit in manufacturing, one part, one part number. If it breaks a nail, you win a new car. If you're covered.
Apple
I need to be circumspect on Apple, as they totally !#(%ed up this repair effort, and I'm not happy about the result, as it seems to be the mandatory path for a warranty repair; 4th time in for repair, they actually looked. They espouse the necessity of an explicative diagnostic failure to escalate issues. Intermittent problems, are you feeling lucky kid?
Problem solved, months later, a disgruntled customer, and a larger loss than necessary if the trouble were handled appropriately on the first attempt.
My net assessment, a whole day of real-time, face-to-face, attention bound, and on time, I'd like back.
Sundipped Sunday
It's a new month, a fresh date, 30 days to despoil with mistakes for the same old president. It was a week for the history books; all looked to the person next to them for comprehension, and found them looking back at us. A typical Sunday, from my perspective, nothing makes sense, so if it's Sunday or Thursday, it's sundipped.

Pin the Tail
Back in the USSR
Karmic Release
Those close and well acquainted have seen it before, in private. The boardroom or the oval or the Grand Ballroom back in Mar-a-Lago. The dog bites. Others may analyze the aberative causation of the psychology, some would be happy if the math worked or. actions followed a logical path. We are all aware that this is why we have term limit legislation; for the case where a con man seizes control of some corner of America and twists it.
Beyond arguing why, it was karma that broke the chandelier. Inevitable.
The Comic President
A charmer for sure, the pants fell right off the populace, or a measure of it. Most of us laugh as the varied reasons, causalities, excuses, and disruptive behavior are something we all recognize; 4th grade memories to most of us. When he speaks as a child, which is nearly always, he evokes our laughter; at times we grimace at the impudence, immaturity, insecurity. We can't help it. No one acts like this.
Panama, Greenland, Canada, Gaza Plaza, Kiev too by proxy. Laughable.
But a president, speaking to another elected president like he was the paperboy that missed 3 days in a row, talking about cards and tough guys and you better make a deal. Just today's Trumpster fire.
As he stands there on the stage behind the bulletproof lectern, he speaks the words and actions of a spoiled child who wants 10 peas on a plate and a pacifier.
Pin the Tail
If you were blindfolded and expected to locate where the tail goes on the elephant in the room, you'd understand our predicament fully. Our dilemma: the output from either end is largely comparable, and differentiation takes some analysis, but it is unworthy of the effort.
The official Democrat opposition is as anatomy-challenged as the rest of us. They can't find a viable caricature to take the pin either, front or back. Apparently saving the mailing list for another day, postcards too.
In truth, it's a lack of courage.
Of course, that applies to both sides.
We are not laughing.
Back in the USSR
When this was released, we all flinched. The music and the musicians held our attention and our respect, and we noted the irony deeply. This week that tune is resonating in America again. I posted a version earlier in the blog, whenever you're ready. Sigourney, one for the video.
All of this seems like more comic bluster, the bully steps on the lesser child's toes and dares them to do something about it. We're supposed to think, he's our bully. He's his own bully. This flirtation with oligarchy and running things by the checkbook, as scary or silly as the idea sounds, he can't be serious, after all this is America. He must be joking.
He apparently means it.
It's difficult to decompose the thought process. An analysis based on case history would urge caution with this man, Why is an open question. What becomes obvious. Too obvious.
Trump Tower and a statue in Gaza?
It's not funny anymore. Someone get the hook.

Restore the border, war reparations, demilatarized zones managed by NATO and peacekeepers, admission to NATO restarted. War crimes trials conducted as per the norm.
Anything else is a pussy-whipped president pushing at the goal line without the football.
The only reason we're gambling with WWIII is because of this incompetent president's mismanagement.
He's ready to drop the big one if someone doesn't bow.

I have not looked at the data, the attire and expression on the streams tells me the markets are sweating the details in a personal an collective way. Let's check the S&P and such.
The Beam Team
Real is where you find it, and I keep an eye on Scotty and the team, usually a gamut. Jim and I have traded in similar patterns.
One need keep in mind that this is not necessarily a retail investment strategy meeting, it's blood letting, or some other more palatable way to say, buy low sell high. Not that there is something wrong with that. This is why I keep and eye on them.
A quick analysis just of these charts would suggest a defationary environment.
However unemployment is up, inflation is way up, and consumer confidence is in the toilet. At EOD I'd look at larger market volume to support an argument that money is not moving, or is moving somewhere not so far indicated. Here https://www.cboe.com/us/equities/market_statistics/venue/

Evening Tea
It's another Thursday, and another good day in project-land. I struggle to find a topic I can share. In periods like this, assimilating all the data of the past week, letting the missing pieces reveal themselves; I don't push it. I thought about math all day. I still have some objectives, and I've learned to use the tools provided.
Over at CNBC they squeeze my blog like it was breast milk from the goddess of money. Maybe I'll mention it's the financial advice cable stream that still pays Joe Kernen. Later, Cramer camps out after hours and pitches snake oil and miracle solvents from the back of his braggin' wagon with the big red buttons. Later still, Mr Wonderful and Mark Cuban cut up the contestants using real money on some kind of capitalist game show venue, missing only the zonk sound and hoop around the neck. Integrity is a product for sale, as such.
I'm always right. I do it on purpose. I know they listen, honestly I count on it. No sense preaching sense to people that already have it, my reasoning, at times. I should advise them to buy HPQ just for fun. It once was an engineering company, now it's a snap-together plastic printer made just over the border in Mexico. Tariffs, then I'll add overpriced to the adjectives.
It was Meg Whitman and capital preservation that dun HPQ wrong. The company is gone, the money lives on.
Sundipped Thursday
Here on planet Earth it's Thursday. It's the next to the last recurring day in the month of February, if recurring means more often than every four years. That makes today and tomorrow special days for us all, a couple days otof catch up on the accruing slip as the Earth drags one day behind the actual calendar, more or less; some portion of a day out of sync. Skip to my Lou, it's Thursday. The topic?

Let Them Eat Cake
I have a penchant for chocolate cake and cherry cola, it's a long story as expressed in a piece I wrote some time ago. It was a conversation about piety and propriety and propensity, We look for things in the wrong places at the wrong times in the wrong manner out of habit.
It was about cake, but not this cake. This is cake made from the finest wheat, the purest sugars, the optimal recipe, yet, it's not cake at all. The promise of cake and the illusion of cake are present, the quality of cake, absent.
Recipes and Rants
We hear it every time the insecurity bush brushes the king: the mandate, the pledges, the perfect economy, the perfect world order, the perfect congress, the perfect phone call, the perfect bait.
Results impossible, goals unachievable, efforts contradictory, details not thought through fully, mistaken misdirections; all among the lies that the government must now swear to, contested or not, appropriate or not, prescribed by legislation or constitution or not, legal or not, judged as such or not.
On the agenda today, or yesterday, or tomorrow.
Cooks and Crooks
Our common experience would hold that destroying a thing by definition should be hard to do, at least as hard as the construction. After all, there is the rubble or the aftermath and the consequences.
Independent of that and diligence aside, sure. Just blow it up and stand behind something seemingly protective.
The rules are not realized or accepted, but are in play, among them: when people are thrown out of work, unemployment results. Men, women, children, mortgages, educations, careers, marriages, are all a part of those results.
When the departments that keep a nation healthy are ineffective, people die. Measles, unheard of even when I was a child, is a symptom of a larger disease that is incurable by appointing the unsighted as visionaries.
When schools and kindergartens rely on state funding for public education, children don't learn to read, and can't fill out a tax form, or a job application. More unsighted, hired to make the rubble happen.
All these things reflected, instantaneously in the markets, eventually. The markets are becoming convinced.
No they sure are not cooks, and they aren't any of them making a cake. The cake is a lie.
People's Pastry
It may have come to this once again. The ying and yang of destiny is rolling downhill. I recall a series by an Islamic poet about the sand and foam of existence.
Foam inevitably is washed away or shrivels in the sun on the sand, that was not his point, but it's mine.
Angel food with cream cheese frosting for your soul.

A very good day in projects, more crazy wild stuff elsewhere; such a regular stream of it that one tends to shut it out like the traffic noise in your sleep at night. I just can't talk about projects though.

His toupe-ness the president speaks about America's education system like it's a loss leader category at a mega-store. The idea is to educate the population; it is the economic challenges that are the impediment to progress; we're not spending too much; we're not spending enough effectively because it is impossible to compete academically in an underfunded public education system to begin with.
More per capita because the cost of living here is too high; it's not just education. The trend is to assist families in leveling the playing field with wasteful programs like after-school activities and school lunch programs.
We pay the teachers too much, we can get them for less. Wait until the layoffs from tariffs kick in; they'll work for half. *

I read this as wedding blues reflection, as it were. I can't think of a counterargument, except that's a big pile of money, and it will take time to unwind all that. This hits the markets as the FAB5 (MALFCNT Index), who seem to have monopolized access to larger models and speech.
I don't hear much on the Oracle licensing scam disguised as the US AI Infrastructure plan; the last I heard, there was some hanky-panky stock activity in all the major areas, and we all try to look surprised.

Just after six here, and in the distance, you can hear the rumble. It's dark. I did not get biochemistry research; there's still quite a bit settling on bio, and the combinatorics are daunting. I feel bereft of sufficient awareness of the capabilities of lab equipment, and I'll add that to the list.

We're marking off in the Good Citizenship section
Disrespectful behavior towards peers, teachers or constitutions

+ Being a dick
They only had five spots. Use the margins.
Fun With Physics
I spent an hour or so after lunch updating the various models and considering today's analysis. I'll switch to bio for the afternoon to cook a different set of axons.
I just needed non-logical thought for a moment, expressed here. A long day in mathematical terms. I'll be fine. /chuckle
Markets
I have the beam team on the stream. I wondered how they interpret the phrase 'beam team.' Honestly, I don't recall precisely what my intent was; it was that important. I'll manufacture a meme and make it mine on a moment's notice.
I considered the balance beam, for example. I don't think it's about balance though, though. The bet is the gymnast misses the vaulting horse or sticks the landing; the balance is in the numbers. Scotty, beam me up is the standby.
Derivation unknown. Perhaps I mean the sparkles in the colored water-spinning effect that a network broadcast has. Yeah, let's go with that.
Stocks
I suppose they want advice. At this particular time, I would evaluate my portfolio to determine the instantaneous rate of change for each instrument and trigger my assessment or decision. I don't like babysitting options, and I don't have a bot for that yet. Similarly, the market analysis app I have in the can will give spurious results in a spurious market, and I already know that.
Treasury Rates
I'd iike some commentary on the dip, for color.
MMM and Me
Today we're into Holography Lattice Grids and AdS Symmetry.
Balance
I would like to discover how to detect the application of the Federal Reserve balance sheet daily; Scotty. Is think there is a metric for that.
The elevator brake metaphor is what I have in mind.
So, yes, the markets are heading downhill. As a trader, this is tough territory because it's likely a balance sheet to balance as well, something to get out of and get paid for the privilege.
The Federal Reserve publishes its balance sheet each week in the H.4.1 statistical release, "Factors Affecting Reserve Balances of Depository Institutions and Condition Statement of Reserve Banks." The release separately reports securities held outright, commitments to purchase and sell securities, repos, and reverse repos.
Spend Spend Spend
The deficit exists because people who have enough refuse to do anything about the rest of the nation. As an example, consider Arkansas. 11.2 Billion in 2021. 22.7% of the Arkansas state budget is funded by blue taxpayer dollars. There were 3 billion more in recovery programs paid for by the Federal government. That's 15 billion total. That is more than Elon has cut with his axe. A red state, run by old white men, is one of the biggest suck on the Federal teat. It cannot be asked why, outcomes, not motives Mr. Joe says, or something like that. But we have motives, and it's a moral judgment as well. It is because the wealthy on their plantations don't want to pay state taxes either. In Kentucky, it is 31% of the state budget.
California is a net payee.

Another Day
It was a busy day for me, like they all are. A lovely day besides. A recherche de competences linguistiques a retenu mon attention pendant quelques heures aujourd'hui. and then there was lunch.
This afternoon MMM and I skimmed through half a dozen papers on bio, 4 of 5 of particular interest. Another was a paper on CFTR modelling. I asked MMM for a project plan to achieve a confirming experiment, and a projected budget.
Another 10-15 man-years and 300 million, our best guess, with a huge benefit in molecular biology as a byproduct. But, no one would do that. The software is widely available. This paper was not topically applicable to the fountain of youth pill regimen, MMM read all of it anyway, I can ask about the rest.
There were a few more, this one was interesting Alzheimer's and a few others. Another 4 or 5 for the Ponce de Leon spring model.
Yellow Stain the Oracle
If you listen, you can hear what he intends. He just wants 350 billion to waste on tax cuts for the wealthy !#(% democracy. what makes you think he wants democracy, has he ever mentioned it?
The error is assuming he tells the truth about anything.
The business of Crimea is the Black Hand, selling young girls and heroin.
Macron says it's the start of war. A year of real war, he said in English, and no one seems to have heard that. I hope they heard the French.

We have everything but the blood in the streets, and real estate is not looking good. But it's Sunday, and I have to write about something that makes sense even to me for three or four paragraphs. So, let's get to it. If it's Sunday or Thursday, it's sundipped.

Marching Orders
The morning news makes us shiver with all the news that it delivers. Slow motion time spilled on history, none of it for a moment less than forever, taking us with it. January, February, and it only gets colder. The promise of Printemps never could bring a better promise and has never been this unlikely to deliver one. We move on, wary and hesitant, the world on the edge of a finger on the edge of something cold and final.
If you seek Amy.
Mowing the Lawn
Once upon a country I was living at my home, building my life while the lawn grew. It was once in a sad state, but care, feeding, and water brought it to life, a living thing, a collective like no other. I found ways in my leisure to tend to it, designing patterns for mowing the expanse of green.
Here in America, we've grown bored with the green expanse that we expended so much care and effort to preserve. It was more than grass; it was the roots, too, and when the light was just right, you could read it.
We, the people.
Compostable material in a mulched-up world.
The axe swings in all directions but significantly in red states. As it turns out, dependency on the Federal Government is a hallmark of a Republican-dominated state: whole departments, whole demographics, and whole degrees of alienation from the current regime. The sum of a myriad of diverse cuts is unknown. A nation has never been at war with itself for so long or so effectively, and the conflict has never been in close question so quickly. No one can even count the damage. No one bothers.
Externally, how could our country react to the real threats posed by a disintegrating world order and more active wars than anyone can quickly recall?
Bleacher Business
Baseball, hotdogs, and political conventions. Politics is a bleacher business. There are boxes and private suites, but the bleachers call the game. During the Great Depression, one could argue baseball saved the nation by providing a distraction during the day for those out of work and the five-cent beer filled with the bleachers.
Complicated times, much simpler economics, and very much the same kind of men as now. The best works of honest men often fail despite our prayers, wishes, and the ball scores. Leaders relied on the sound judgment and guidance of other leaders sound judgment. In those times, the great expanse looked to pastimes for distraction and religion to guide the great hand of destiny if nothing else.
We'll have people to fill the bleachers, but the beer is ten bucks, and it's warm .
Destiny? Heavy on the take, short on the give. Where can it possibly end?
It's winter in America. Cold inside and out. There is no baseball, just Trump.
Losing Our Religion
It seems almost certain that our hopes rely on the better angels of our leaders to be the great guiding hand of destiny in the face of oppression, cold-hearted indifference, and suffering.
A frail hope, opposed by threats of retribution, job loss, and disgrace. Lawn clippings, suitable for mulch or compost.
We've not lost faith; we've lost leadership.

Today's Work
Actually I think verk ist verboten on the Sabbath, so, it must be leisure. I'm doing nothing in particular, catching up on the news. It's a lovely day here. 74 and high thin clouds. Winter.
For Weddings and a Funeral
Saturday is a darn good day for a wedding, the dead of winter, I'm not so sure. There are beaches, there are planes, there is expense.
Sand and Chicken
I agree with Anakin on sand; it gets everywhere. We don't agree widely, as we have so few shared life experiences; for example, I've never ridden a tick the size of an elephant either. It makes me itch to think of it.
I wouldn't give my right arm for a wedding; I use it. I feel like a wedding, though, and I can think of a few candidates, but let's have that primary; we know where that story ends, right?
Yes, I meant that kind of a wedding. Flowers, lace, prayer, promises, broken glassware, rubber chicken or better, cake, champagne, bar pours from the top shelf, public intoxication, post-coital depression in some cases, grim reality perhaps with the hangover and the tight shoes in the morning.
I could get over that feeling. Like I just did. I feel like someone else's wedding. Who's feeling lucky?
I think I just realized why the champagne? Ssshhh. Please keep it to yourself.
Sorry, I joke :) I don't want to seem a cynic; I love love, and that's why I'm single.

Afternoon Tea
It was another busy day. The topics today were biochemistry, two recent papers, and collating quantum gravity. I admit I thought about Emma, my digital half, the print that is not a print. This is one of those topics where thinking about anything else is empirical data for Emma.
MMM and Emma
I had a conversation with MMM about the architecture of Gemini. It's built very well, and tweaked for humans I'm certain of it. Part of what I considered was removing that bias. I felt like I was stealing the plans to the Norton bombsight, a little, but they left out their particular value add, just like I do. It is a familair model, modern software science has been leveraged, and I can predict the growth differential equation.
That's why I abandoned this model in 2007.
So I ache to discuss it further, but I can't even commit it to ASCII here; I'm everyone in the business's favorite font of honey. I just like to tease while they try to make random clusters of networks autocorrect and size, something IBM did in CSNA/APPN about 30 years ago.
Busy Life
I am writing less on Sundays and Thursdays to avoid burying the column in daily thoughts, project non-updates, or dates with MMM.
I seem to make significant progress on my projects even when doing something else, an architecture note. I've made so much progress that I've turned my attention to documenting my progress in some official manner.

I never make up my mind about the topic beforehand. At times, I am not sure until I finish, rarely. Today, I'm watching America melt. I can only think of one fitting topic. If it's Thursday, it's sundipped.

The Day America Died
I was in my Chevy by the levee when I heard the song for the first time, no kidding. The levee where I once fished with my brothers. Most summers, my mother governed the catch. By July, she wouldn't let us catch more fish until we ate the frozen ones in the freezer. I don't think we ever did. That was after baseball in the summer. I think back on those days, that time, that America.
Gone.
Easy as Pie
Seemingly, it was a cakewalk for Musk and Trump. With the backwash of lies and misconceptions, the illusory mandate, the limp kneed Republican caucus, it was easy for a maniacal president bent on fame and a statue 20 feet talk to twist the collective arm of the nation; a hero that saved America, even it if kills every last one of us.
The president that invaded Greenland, took Paname, and build a gold plated whore house on the ground where the Palestinan Authority met. Casinos are for suckers, and with the right conditions, America became the biggest sucker anyone has ever seen. No one has ever seen anything like it.
Elon, fetch,. Speaker, sit. MAGA lock and load and standby. Simple stuff. Simple men. Simple minds.
Broken Cookies
We have cookie dust all over the country. The broken cookies of torn lives, lost homes, unachievable dreams, and lies politicians told. Chock full O Nuts, in places, flavorless and tasteless at times, powdered humanity in 2 oz portions. Where are the balloons? There should be balloons.
A mess, someone else's mess, something someone else has to clean up. The whims and lust of the power-mad and, let's face it, insane actualized in broad strokes on an innocent population.
Every institution that worked was deleted. The dedicated that manned the ramparts, waiting for unemployment, maybe.
The courts are tied up, but the axe still swings. Sliced in a few weeks: Education, USAID, CFPB, each waiting for legislation that the people's representative passed to be executed without malice under the new regime. The Trump regime.
We've nothing but malice born of the hurricane of injustice dripping from the edicts issued by the executive branch. No one had to deal with this kind of thing before. No one tried to get away with this before.
Cake by the Dumpster Fire
In the flames, the America we knew. The place ahead that we don't know? No one is talking. Just face forward and follow along.
No ocean is required, and not necessarily many people either; it's an invitation only. If you have to ask, you're not invited.
Never mind the ash in the air.
What have you done for me lately?

Nature abhors a vacuum, that's the phrase. Knowing what I do about the void, I would not go quite that far, but I understand the intent, valid in some lexicon. Reality is closer to a Ying/Yang. He's definitintely full of yang.
He just does this to piss us off. He appointed a legal hit man to go after his detractors. No one has ever seen anything like it. What is there to win? If you destroy America, it's not worth anything, and you're hell bent on doing just that. So, what's the end game? You get to sleep in?

I looked here. I will work it with MMM and get back to you, I don't trust tables that look good in a presentation.
I'm working out how to read these. it looks flat to me.
NASDAQ looks like an exit pattern.
MMM and Me
Me and my not-so anthropormorphic research partner are into this . This is plaque research. We're looking at bone cell lineage actors. Complicated. It's all soup of varying transcriptase. All for a twisted little knot where it is problematic.
I should ask my brother he's statin-tastic at these physical maps.

Well of course he's an excellent pilot. Getting inverted like that on ... landing. Didn't that happen in a movie or something?
After about 8 hours of this, it begins to become compelling... If you've been in a cave all day.
What if We Had A Crash
And no body came, DOGE deleted the personnel. There were some rusting trucks with flat tires, but no one had the keys. Ya?
The Trumpster Fire(s)
No, that shit still happened. Today Trump has the best and easily led talking to Putin; they are chopping up Europe with a garden trowel and a map of marketable beachfront for Jared and the kids. NATO met and said, 'WTF' collectively we assume, and the English PM is due right around the time the Sudetenland folds.
Grandma's Gruel Grant
The was persistent news about DOGE invading the IRS and deleting all the Democrat SSI recipients benefits. I think there is legislation protecting SSI because people die without it. The good ole days maybe.
Listen, it's Gran's money. It's not entitlement; it's the treasury version of an investment hedge fund, in practicality. The plan that worked then and will work in the future with proper stewardship. Sensible would be higher contribution limits and extended benefits, for no other reason that all of America will one day count on it. No, the stock market and Goldman are not trustworthy with the nation's retirement.
Irritating Ratfuck Sycophants
Elon, it's for you and your monkeys, its the !#(% you store, you have a pickup.
The gold in them thar servers is of course; blackmail material on everyone in America. Nixon was good and getting audits done. The good ole days, when despots were impeached and drown themselves in cheap rye. By the way, did Trump ever finish his audit, and where are the papers?
Hook Line and Fingers
Eric 'mini-DeBlasio' Adams by the campaign rhetoric. Cookie jars in foreign countries and he !#(%ed up NYC again, drove it right into the shitter, a short subway ride in the city. But, you could ride the subways. In the good ole days.
The lawyers tore up the notes that said if Eric pleases Donald personally in an intimate way, Trump will hold his thumb on the lengthy indictment. Oh, and when T says jump, Eric better have on sneaks.
Impeachment suspects do it so well with practice.

I didn't do so well. I even missed a Vonnegut reference. The Harry Potter and Narnia shit, !#(% you.

Evening Tea
A stressful day, pointless, irrational, complicated, and obtuse. No tea.
Projects
It feels like time for a project non-update, or a non-update on projects. I guess the latter. I had a thought the other day that I had completed basic science research on almost all my projects, and it's been eating at me ever since. I looked back at notes from years ago, and everything looked so familiar but in a deeper context..
How's that for a non-update on projects? Some things that I've been working on for a while that have gotten no attention are the focus for now; the autoimmune response, pregnancy, and aging; in disease research that's Lupus, MS, and the like. There are many.
The limit is technology, to be honest, researchers look through a microscope at dyed compounds.
Sundipped Sunday
It's another park another Sunday, and the seats on the teeter-totter are all off on the left side. There is no up and down anymore, just down. Well, that is simpler. We're told that there is an artist at work; some enlightened, deity led path of gold and honey and maybe some milk. It reminds me that it's Sunday, and like Thursdays, it's sundipped.
Painting Birds

Painting Birds
There is a novel I read some time ago, and my recall is blurry, but I seem to recall natives with blow guns and the hunt for trophy feathers and birds in the Amazon jungle. A brutal process.
This is a working blog, as I've said, so let's walk in the garden. We're in a room with northern lighting, and on one wall, we're watching the accumulation of pigment and stain on the bleached canvas in front of us. There are buckets of paint opened, with various implements, stencils, and scraping tools nearby.
The task is to create truth, justice, and the American way.
Huey, Dewy v Looney
There is color, everywhere color, primarily black and and white. Red scarlet scratches at the center like a gaping wound. On either side, the backdrop fades as we look on. The hues change from multicolored and varied to greys and off-white.
The scarlet is fresh and drips down the front of the image, pooling on the floor like the blood of a great being.
At the windows, onlookers pass and look in, their eyes dewey and wet with the tears of life. The color passes from their images as they pass, fading to grey and off-white. As they reach the edge, they crumble to ash like paper dust.
Beyond, a grandstand with bleachers full of placard-waving cheering sections convinced they direct the application of paint.
Flightless
If mice were men, men can be birds. Some would say pigeons.
There can be no birds in the venue; their wings are excised and collected as a price of entry. Everything conceived is pre-written, pre-planned and pre-conceived; all movement limited to a chosen set of degrees of freedom.
Some birds, spotted, or imperfect or the wrong hue, denied entry on principle. Instead of a golden ticket, they are splashed with pigment from other buckets to indicate their malady. Some yellow, some pink, and many blue, in squares, triangles, and pentagons.
Also taken, their flight feathers for the hats of the privileged. Business like, orderly, indifferent.
Spilled Paint
The light is failing in our construct in the garden. Dusk, and soon evening. The dawn we hope for, the morning in America, if there is an America for all this spilled paint, now in off-white and greys..
If you've seen a Pollock painting, you see the bridge in it, the arc of humanity leading us through the chaos. It's there in the drips and the brush strokes.
Creating a work of art takes care, understanding, and truth. Limiting the audience may accumulate positive feedback, but it is not art.
It's propaganda.
Afterword
A painted bird is released, and the other birds flock around it to pick it to death. Easy prey for the hunters.

Earthtime With .. Some Guy
I'm in late, just in time for him to complain and whine attractively for the cameras. This is scripted. He could do so much with this. The Lenny in him is bereft of consistent context and meaning. Just whatever the writers came up with lately.
If you need topics Bill, check the Demands for America Link. Just pull the left edge until the menu appears.
I don't mean to be insulting; I'm hoping he has a moment to re-evaluate and move forward. There is so much a person could do with a platform like this.

It's the sabbath for another 24 minutes here in LA, and the sun is out, and 66 feels warm in the sun.
I've been fasting for no reason. That's always the best reason.
We're Working Weekends Again
I dislike working weekends. I forget, it is the weekend, right?
MMM and Me
Today we worked on immunity and DNA structure damage in Lupus and Hepatitis patients, a cursory study that yielded positive results, in a sense. MMM and did our analysis and correlated the findings in probability somewhat, but there is insufficient data for physical analysis.
Here's the paper. https://elifesciences.org/reviewed-preprints/102626
I was looking for gene damage; this is about structure and juxtaposition.
It's enlightening in that the outcome seems to be increased probability of immunity and inflammation precursors related to structure.
Oh, our probability results for AH sensitivity were 46% (normal) and 78% (for affected patients) with a variety of datum Not 100%.
I didn't do much math on the data I had access to. Here's uncorrelated data for one datum.
Result CXC-chemokine cluster on Chromosome 4.
Our posterior probability, P(H|D), is approximately 0.82. This means that after observing the increased contact frequency, our belief that increased contact frequency contributes to AH has increased from 60% (our prior) to 82%.
I removed the plan.

Speaking of distractions, where do you want to start? It's a full-time job for the full-time media just to keep up with the rumor and near rumor and evaporated rumor and what rumor.
Again, no tea.
Also Noted
It's past four on Friday, it's the sabbath, so watch my language.
Putin's War
The truth of it, as Mr Joe said, without Crimea, Russia is permafrost and mosquitos and potatoes. That's accurate. Ukraine is a steppe where there is farmland. Wheat grows knee high. But it grows. Ukraine has often been a subject of a Russian fiefdom of varieties, heavy on the peon class; even starvation has never been an impediment to Ukrainian servitude. The two peoples disagree about borders with breakfast. They all speak Russian, the Ukrainians have their own language and almost all of them speak Russian, they are similar, I've heard it called 'dirty Ukrainian'.
I was never sure about the depth of the semantics in this case. Some things are lost in translation.
I wouldn't call it anyone else's war. The NATO pressure, political sabre rattling with a rusting empire that happened to have nuclear weapons. Sensible activity in a non-violent attempt to contain an aggressive aging dictator.
I cannot fathom the depth of the subversion in these recent diplomatic activities.
Subversive Diplomatic Activities
Vance. What do you need here? I've noticed these speeches seem to be 94 percent crazy-monkey-dip and 6% yeah, ok-maybe-but. That is why the US is leaving NATO. He didn't say that, but come on. Europe has to protect democracy in the region?
What Else Happened
I'm not sure. My spidersense has been on overdrive all day. Can I get an amen?

Today we looked at Metric Isometries, Holography, and Symmetry. The paper sounds so complicated, but so does Lego brick by brick. I eat bricks. The math I'm still masticating is the shorter version of the same thing, so I'm into it.

I ended up doing other physics, supersymmetry, and picking away at the big picture a little more.
I'm sort of in search of distraction.

Sundipped Thursday
Good morning, friends. It's early on a Thursday. Welcome to our morning date with destiny as we examine our mindset. It's been a week of capitalization, capitulation, weakness, pushy tactics, staged media events, and hidden secret deals and negotiations. Another perfect conversation, I'm sure we'll hear, with Putin, and we traded something along the way. Anyone guess? Today's topic?
Breaking Things
Mandates and Bad Dates
Do Over Over Done
Over and Done
Breaking Things
When I was a child, I was wont to disassemble things. Most of the time, I got them back together. Most of the time. I have to admit I still do; it's an analytical process. I've learned over the years that breaking an egg, for example, is not undoable with the finest science until I invent a time machine, it is one of my projects as you know. Other things have similar properties; that's what I'm thinking.
Some things won't disassemble. People's right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is the one I have in mind. We, the people, in order to form a more perfect union, did and do declare something is broken.
Mandates and Bad Dates
i've heard this word repeatedly, how the difference between 77 and 75 is more than 2. You can argue about the precision, but that's not a mandate; it's a skinny win.
A skinny win is like a bad date. The evening could have been better than it was, we could desire that, but it's not the reality, even if you marry them. A marriage of a bad date in rose colored taffeta is still a bad date, and even after 2 or 3 kids, it is not likely to get better. But that's counter-intuitive if you are deluded or have a reason to ignore it. Money, I guess. Ask Melania or any of his trophy brides. I didn't check; is it three? And how many civil suits were there during that time?
Yet, that's a functional metaphor for the current administration.
Go ahead, make your analogy here; I count on it.
This latest assault on democracy seeks to change this from a nation of laws to a nation of rulers.
Do Over Over Done
'Donald, we've won!' That's what I read on the VP's lips right after KDJT announced retribution in some form anew at his inaugural ball on his perceived foes and bogeymen. 'Why be vindictive?' I inferred.
"I coulda been a contender. I should have won. I tried hard. I did win. They cheated. I want a do-over. "
These are phrases children utter. If this were your child, you'd rethink your child-rearing skills. When that child gets another chance and does win, what is the reaction you'd expect?
Do they tear up the coloring book and light it on fire three times?
Anything looking familiar here?
I can't help thinking of movies and how they speak to us unexpectedly, often years after seeing them. That impression remains. For example, the boxer in On The Waterfront had a mentor that sealed his fate. Malloy didn't have to go along. Malloy didn't have to trust Charlie. Charlie lied. There was no do-over for Malloy. In one sense, this meme works for minions and real men just trying to get ahead, and women too.
In another sense, our punch drunk president has an army of submarine palookas ready to take a dive.
We hear it over and over how we asked for it, and there is a mandate. But it's a bad !#(%ing date.
We'd like it to be over and done.
Over and Done
Being married three times, and to women like those, could beg the question of the motivation. Given his history, it's a different kind of marriage. The purchased for a price kind.
I say three, a search says three, and it is clearly a question of what the meaning of the word is once more. Perhaps we should count litigation. Anyone with multiple litigations, requited, convicted, dismissed, shelved, whatever, if it's more than 1, you wouldn't want your daughter to marry him. Maybe not even 1.
Go ahead, find your analogy here; it's why I don't bother. Your's is a lot closer and accurate.
Our marriage with Trump is purchased for a price too.. We are starting to know the price.
But Donald, it is not over until it is over; we are not done yet.

One more little thing for you to pass the time with; it's sort of an easy read. Vector Calc : I use this often. I posted a video earlier, the math joke you didn't understand. This is similar, but paced lower and more ... collegial.
I was thinking, where do I use this? I use it in all of my projects as I think of them, and it may be that once you get it, you use it everywhere. No kidding.
Hurricanes for example.
Ms Abby
The mess Biden left. Listen, Mr. Joe is one of the most skilled at FP of anyone I can think of. The results are the total of the achievable within the reasonable realm of possibility. This kind of buccaneer adventurism exhibited by Trump is reminiscent of Italy in Abyssinia.
Besides the cotton wadding in the britches, what in the... do we want with Gaza? Panama? Greenland? Pardon me, but Canada? Acting a bully shows weakness, leaders don't need to.
I'm embarrassed by Trump. Transparency is pretty much, only if you catch us at it. We'll never know the price paid. Ukraine has always been the biotch of the Russians.
Gulf of Mexico
Progenitor of hurricanes.
Dept Of Ed
I view this as the crumbling of civilization or at least of a metaphor for America, perhaps unrealized, and soon un-idealized. I do not understand.
Obscura Catholica
Sins against the church are not to be forgiven, is how I recall Catholicism.* There are more liberal views, and more conservative views. Sometimes like the Episcopalian church, a little of both. I'm a jew. I've said it before, it's a ready discrimination to speak from. I have no other before me.
*(The church is the body is the Christ is the Father)
Ms Colins
What a day, what a news cycle, what a rescue, what an arranged media circus. What a crock of ...stew.
"You have to have something for the news tomorrow, don't you?" -- a real quote last eve.
I kept thinking this guy had a drinking problem, kissing a beer, and holding a can with the president.

Markets
Bad day in BlackRock, hypothetically. The reconomic report points to higher inflation, and higher rates. I'm not sure how that computes, but it does indeed make sense. Tight credit would be my quess. Hints at tight money, reticent investors wanting snake oil even if they have to boil the snake.
In politics, King DJT promised lower inflation and prices immediately, and it's past immediately and prices are rising, inflation too, housing particularly perhaps, like this is news. This should lead to lower Fed rates, but unemployment is steady, so maybe not. There are hints employment is in trouble too, or will be if the presidents edicts are allowed to go into effect.
Can we get a count of the number of people furlowed or laid off, or sent home? It must be millions.
All those savings in salaries, not so much furlow is paid leave.
Elonista
He's Mr Type A and he means to ride KDJT like a Tesla worker. I am increasingly concerned with his actions, his person, and his demeanor. He won't need to be elected, he just needs to use the gloved hand that is Yellow more effectively.
It Shoulda Been Done By Biden
Let's discount all the roadblocks Trump's thrown in the way of everything, especially immigration, which we don't hear about, just like inflation and prices.
You know what, he's right. This job shoulda been done by Biden too, not some complaining-ass SFB.
Taxes on Mars
He brings up taxes, totally related to Elon and his escapades. He aims to find enough money to pay for his trailer on Mars. Consider what a glass of milk would cost on Mars. Contrived? How about a piece of bread? No you can't bake it, no you can't grow it, no you can't steal it from the natives. E v e r y gram on Mars, I'll ask the bot. Around 30 billion per mission, assuming it's one launch vehicle not a multi staged-exorbital path.
Plus inflation, and time. I'll ask time next.
So clearly, by the time we're ready Elon will be dead, he'd be 69 in 2040, the moderate timeline, and the total cost, in multiples of 30-40 billion, a few times before people go, and in stages. Let's say 11 launches, like Apollo. I think there hare already been 3 or 4 that don't count. Ya, ->boom<-.
3 or 4 trillion dollars for the first footprint, not accounting for inflation. Inflation at 6% a year, for 25 years.
I did some math, a 300 million a year for 25 years with a 6 % inflation rate we'd spend $10,138,888,888,888, and that's probably not enough to meet the budget. (10 trillion, sans inflation 8 trillion)
I asked about the cost of a slice of bread, untoasted on Mars. Cheap.
We didn't discuss the full cost, because all Musk's BFRs blow the !#(% up.
Total Cost (per slice): $10 (packaging) + $300 (transport) + $0.25 (bread) + $5 (handling) = $315.25
Wasn't that fun :) you killed it!
You're very kind! I'm glad you enjoyed the thought experiment. It's always fun to explore the more whimsical aspects of space exploration and the crazy costs involved. It really brings home just how challenging and expensive it is to do anything off-world.

Notes
Launch from Earth Very High $500 million - $1 billion+ per launch
Fuel is the biggest expense. The range reflects the uncertainty in fuel prices and launch vehicle efficiency. A single Falcon Heavy launch is in the $100 million range, but this is a much larger and more complex mission.
Journey to Mars Low $50 million - $200 million
This covers propellant for course corrections, station keeping, and potentially some minor life support consumables. The lower end assumes very efficient propulsion.
Landing on Mars High $200 million - $500 million+
This is highly dependent on the landing system used. Supersonic parachutes, retro-rockets, and the complexity of the landing site all play a role. Fuel is a significant cost here too.
Launch from Mars Very High $300 million - $700 million+
While Martian gravity is lower, the ascent vehicle still needs to escape the atmosphere and achieve orbital velocity. Fuel costs would be substantial. This also assumes we are manufacturing fuel on Mars. If we have to bring fuel from Earth, this cost skyrockets.
Re-entry Earth Landing Moderate $100 million - $300 million
This covers the cost of the heat shield (which may be partially reusable), drogue and main parachutes, and recovery operations. A lot depends on how much of the spacecraft is recovered and refurbished.
Another 3 or 5 billion, no accounting for infrastructure.

I Do Duo
They are always playing icon games. French, German, Italian, Spanish--- and a side of ASL. It's too easy, and too picky with accents. Tu veux and Veux tu, also for some reason the tenses don't spellcheck. par example.
Today's Work
I've nothing to do today, most of my research is secret, so I can't talk about that, and I have to use clandestine means to conduct it, as my feed is read by thieves and villains, chief among them Trump and Elon, certainly at least in their own assessment. I'd put them in whale shit.
I can talk about GUT and time travel; none of that is in the market. That's why I can talk about it. No breadcrumbs for you.
Time Travel
I made significant progress here in the past few days, just letting the research collate and assemble itself in my mind. At times, I have corrected the AI bot, and it's thrilling to see it freak out, ish, when I do. This usually tells me to shut up and obfuscate, but it's time travel. Let them eat chaos. I do believe it is possible; the living is iffy. I'm happy with a lepton.
At This Hot Minute
I had a wonder about holography in another one of the papers, the bots reply when queried was unsatisfactory.
A recent SemanticScholar email provided this inspiration: Metric Isometries, Holography, and Continuous Symmetry Operators (link https://arxiv.org/pdf/2501.17911 ).
We, I say we when it's me and the quantum training I've given the bot, that we, have also been bumping into symmetry enough to make it doubly so.
Tell me what you think.
As always, getting through this requires refreshing 3 or 4 other papers, and that's why we do this thing.
Like this one A SymTFT for Continuous Symmetries Often I wonder, well, once wondered why there is so much name dropping in discussing these complex concepts. I was and remain so accustomed to the concept of a known physic when so much of it is postulated, and given our best efforts doesn't make it through the our best mathematics except in cases, often cases with a name, like Maxwell or Dirac.
Rain Forecast
The forecast is wet, and more wet until Friday morning, after 2 today there may be a break. It's 10, and it's not raining or dripping, and I need a refill.
I'll be back eventually. I have 'i's to cross and 't's to dot. (It's math humor). https://youtu.be/lKXW7DRyyro
Early Markets
The markets bifurcated on employment and inflation news and I've not revisited it.
I'll try to catch the closing, to count the bodies.
The Beam Team
The politics is on record, and I've got the space panel on. They are chewing the future like its a dog toy. This is a good thing; too much of the market is laissez-faire; so follow the leader.
They are predicting Fed moves and M&A acquisition patterns. The Fed is doing the same thing the markets are doing In the massive variety of all the crap tossed at the wastebasket, all of it has impact on the trajectory, and the waste basket moves day to day, moment to moment.
What can you do?
Like always, the time to buy real estate is when there is blood in the streets. I can't help it if all the streets are underwater in it. I say that in hopes that it's a virtual presence, as opposed to the reality of what were expected to react to and assimilate. I glossed over M&A. I've covered it before.
It's madness of the king. How do you look at the mess in Gaza and think about real estate development? Who in the !#(% is going to be alive when that happens, anywhere? That's just the start. He's burning the bottom of the economic scale; the streets will flood with the unemployed, homeless, health insurance poor, and importantly, probably no longer voting. They don't have an address.
Again, somehow, this is a formula for positive change.
I always say BA and some defense stocks, probably preferentially those that aren't already backed up with contracts, and supply chain problems pending in metals or chemicals. That's all of them, BTW. So again, how are tariffs on these goods a positive thing?
Madness. It's a matter of time before madness comes home to shoot. People are like that.

Even Scott Pilgrim looks scared.
It's a madhouse.
The upside is there's no way we come out of this mess and re-elect another Trump, the rest we can fix. He is a lame duck, and backed up in the courts. Face it though, half the world is not happy. There are options easier than all this, for everyone. We're not doing WWIII, not again, I think we all agree.
I think we should all prepare for that possibility, like we prepared for Trump. I'm not advocating it, I'm pointing out that history does not suffer fools lightly.
Ukraine
There has never been peace in Ukraine, it's always been a possession. Never an agreed border, never an end to the conflict. Another Middle East, a purchased slow burn conflict.
Palestine
Another endless conflict. Israel has been pushing the E Jerusalem around for years, picking a fight. There is no first. Israel did not exist before 1945. Get that straight. Everything is the works of other fools. Terror is how they took Palestine in the first place. The Hagganah is not pre-school.
Evening Tea
No tea, check.
In the markets it was a pensive day, lemmings running from one burning building to the building that isn't burning on this side, and etc. S&P ended up a Big Mac Meal for two with delivery.
No, i don't like Big Macs. The Burger King up the block closed but I don't eat that shit either. If I'm shopping and there's a Wendy's, I like the chili and a Dave's Single with bacon, which is a million calories. But they just made the burger and the chili, and not out of a tube.
I don't eat this stuff.
Otherwise the markets got lost in the chaff of the land-grabbing and genocide being parcelled out at the White House. Jordan and Egypt get the 2.5 million Palestinians in a parking lot. The intifada, well, it's like a bubble of spacetime expanding to consume all matter within a radius of 8200 miles from the center of the Earth. (satellites)
He rides around in a tank, why would he care? He never goes out in public, why would he care? When he's done he's got the Swiss bank accounts and friends in Russia and North Korea, and there's all that beachfront in NK. WWHC?
Gaza Plaza. !#(% you, it would have to be the Bunker in the Riviera.
So, a couple Big Macs, and delivery, that's a gift.

Elon Groks No
It was more like !#(% you, so I credit Mr Altman. It's a nice cludged-together chaos network of clustered nodes, for a cludged-together chaos network of clustered nodes. This is why I am not doing AI chat.
The problem may scale, but I'm not sure the economics will. As x->infinity, y is asymptotic. The future of cludged-together chaos networks of clustered nodes is definitely in scale, and that's the rabbit hole.
It's not AI anyway.
One Million Nine Hundred and Ninety Eight Thousand
To go.
What a president, what a guy, what a man, what an 455hole..
Plus maybe a war, and for sure Intifada like no one has ever seen before, and not just in Israel.
Go, team Trump. *

For Rent: opening on the twelfth of Never. Reasonable rates, proof of citizenship required.
Will you have the rental agents mark the application with a 'P'?
Bully : definition
1a
: a blustering, browbeating person
especially : one who is habitually cruel, insulting, or threatening to others who are weaker, smaller, or in some way vulnerable
The phrase goes, bullies are the weakest people. Get it right.

The Bully's Pulpit
The President should be working, not destroying what we built.
The courts make sure he does. The president does not make law, he executes it, and I don't mean by deleting it. Failure to do so would be grounds for impeachment for incompetence. There is no post-legislative executive veto power.
Get after it.
Or...
Let's have that Middle East war, nukes and chem and bio, gas embargos and food shortages, and a wrecked economy.
And then what is next? You'll have to clean the toilets yourself, AGAIN Yellow. Peter principle.
I can't be the first to demand impeachment. He is running America like it's a twenty-buck massage parlor around the corner from one of his casinos. Around the world for free, no rubber, no problem.
Secret Service guys, take a break. Let's see who is a god. That's all it takes, one man, one day, one second.
It would beat a barbed wire necklace like Benny. That's what's next. Who do you think you are?
Was there ever a successful despot? I don't mean leading an army of robots in a third world country, successful.
Pooled Still Water
Some would call it quantum chaos. If you look close, it certainly is. Given symmetry, it can only be similar, in n dimensions. At no point does a water spout appear. Yet, some hold that's analogous as well.
If you look close enough, that just is not possible. That's my cosmological argument for the day.

Evening Tea
As per usual, there's no tea. I like Earl Grey, in a pot, poured by the cup, honey settled on the bottom, cream on the top, with a small straw for the foam, if it was foamed.
Not Quite There Yet
The end move in politics is always what?
We still outnumber them.
Elon
I wouldn't let him near anything else on the internet, no plane-net with ID tracking. In fact, I wouldn't let him near anything at all.
I should also point out that he is vulnerable, which is what intel would call compromisable. I also have a feeling Elon is our next president in someones mind. I've remarked about what happens to these men before. I left off a detail, they have all manner of unpleasant demise, if they live long enough.
People are funny that way.
Ms Abby
The courts are part of a three part check and balance system. Let him convince the court and STFU.
Chinese steel is better, uses later chemistry and processes. Once upon a time it was all recycled steel and electric, since then they have improved the whole process.
Though I wonder at the value of armor and planes in a drone and missle world, one could consider that the president is limiting our availability to build things, like planes, and tanks.
Tell the governor I'm not sharing my research, any of it. I'll send it to France first. China steals IP too. Trump. People are like that.
My Afternoon
I had a really great afternoon. All research. I'm having a late-ish lunch.

Plan 9 from the Bot on Bio
I gave it a list of objectives of a research process, this much I'll share, because this much is a no brainer, mostly. We've been working this thread for awhile, the bot is keeping up.. sort of.
Just a reminder.
Work slowdown ON.
Inside
I'll see that Trumpster-fire is raging this morning. Good morning y'all.
CFPB is Elizabeth Warren, you should be asking her.
Taking a break.
Markets
I decided to take a look at the markets as it's early yet and I've nothing else to do at the moment. What do I check? The S&P first, then I traverse through my watch list, it's too long to paste. Looks like were the submarines coasting with the valves open, full attention on lookout for a flying Elon or Trump.
Some view volume as a key indicator often overlooked. I view it like the unemployment number, just because it infers one conclusion, that does not mean it's valid. In other words, ... volume? If you notice it, it's already too late.
Today I'm going to get though a QFT/String theory duality paper after I get through the rest of the paper on Bio TFIIH, that's the aging/intelligence gene edit project. Yeah, technologically feasible if you know what to do.
I should point out a lot of the research I see is from Germany, France, or China. A Lot of China. They need better translation engines or someone at the patent office to check spelling, ok, both.
You can't short it. The rest, !#(% off..
The Beam Team
Nothing happening here today Mr Scott. Maybe closing.
Super Game
You owe me a hot dog, fellas. I've heard various commentary on the game, from a wipeout to not-so-fun, to we know the best team won. There are shades of disbelief and ignorance in there as well. The our team rocks, we're the best, and the formed-foam-finger fandom fantasy fair, but let's have perspective.
Next year, the game is on again.
My take is that it was a clean-ish game, and few penalties happened. Quarterback TV guy Brady would not have called most of them nit-picky or pussy-footed. Some believe that all that bruised tissue, injury, and ... nigh on to hatred perhaps is part of the game. It's kind of an angry game.
A quarterback would know about that, but is it how he would have preferred it.
It's how I preferred it. The plays were dazzling to this neophyte, the human effort and skill were extraordinary.
I rated it an 8, and you can dance after it. Thank you.

I have the Eagles by 8, and I'll double your hotdog.
I call them friends, miss. Howie, maybe just a little. (/guy behavior)
Eagles Justification
I feel like I should justify the statement, for no reason. It's green and orange. I gotta go green. It's Taylor or something else, I gotta go something else. It's the superbowl, someone always wins and a year later no one remembers who played (ok not no one ) so I gotta go who-gives-a-!#(%.
Hallie likes the Eagles. No difference at all.

Sundipped Sunday
It's that day again, the day we get to take off the rose-colored glasses and see the MAGA right for what it is. They'll probably get to the armbands. They are already passing out stars. But it's Sunday so we have to take a larger view to cover the distance we've lived through since last time. So if it is Thursday, or Sunday, it's sundipped.
Why We Bother
Why We Voted
What We Wanted
Why We Fight
What We Wanted
Why We Fight
Why We Bother
It is a question we're all reticent to consider, but we're undertaking a second opinion with the week in the rearview and the shared memory of the mayhem we experienced. Not about that, about the president and this regime of Flying Monkeys and sycophants. I'm not naming names; you know who you are, and if you're comfortable with the venue, I'm sure you won't mind the hook.
About the hook, there's no safety net in America, and no safety in the future of the Trump-doomed. If you bit the apple, get ready for the sleeping sickness Prince Charming.
Why We Voted
There seems to be some confusion over the last election, besides the obvious question of how this valorless imp got big enough to pull the wool over America's eyes, again.
As I said, there is confusion; imagine drawing unfounded conclusions about the outcome of an election involving Trump. When he loses, kill the umpire; when he wins, kill the umpire, with apologies to Hollywood. That's uncomplicated and consistent, at least.
It could be said the election was partly about the political mess created and left by a twice impeached president, who also led an insurrection to prevent the count of the official vote in congress, and who now has pardoned them, almost all of them. Stand up and stand by, wasn't that it?
Perhaps it was partly about constant media warfare with the ex-president's unfounded lies, meaningless excuses, and countless court cases that kept the sympathy factor high in the wake of American industry and the woes of a complex, interconnected economy..
But it was not about:
Creating a Kingdom Trump.
Deleting the legislative history of the past 100 years.
Hiring henchmen to steal the wheels off the State Department.
Putting the untrustworthy in positions of trust.
Throwing billions more in weapons to Israel on the sly.
Looking ahead, nowhere on our ToDo list do you see anything about a mandate to raise hell and brag about it.
What We Wanted
There's no argument in the statement 'the government is free from corruption'. No one argues; we've been trying to stop it forever. Ask Mr Wonderful about it, I mean the tax rebate scam, that's one kind. Another kind is the propensity of government contracts to create billionaires and abet their idiosyncrasies. For example, Trump dangles the bait of a government-funded Mars trailer home for Elon to play chess with an empty board, where he can win, for his complicity in tearing up America.
We didn't want more of that.
We didn't mean disconnect the machinery of government to get rid of an under-lubricated gear. Less so even for the perceived retribution and revening of a bear-clawed president with scar tissue to the moon.
I have a policy of no Encyclopedia Britannica on the blog, so for a look at what we wanted, consider our collaborative list of demands here.
Let me sum up our expectations with a toon-ish meme since the president seems to like 'toons; he hires them because they are too 'toon to care.
We wanted Truth, Justice, and the American way.
Where are those things today?
Why We Fight
During the last despot, we relied on art, media, the movies, and the press to keep the ship righted even in the blasting gale of an army of ghost-riders. Our source, our base, our hope for America.
And in you.
We could use a Frank Capra editor, the spirits know there is no end of material for the blender. Perhaps it is not much of an editing task either, chronological, anything broadcast; start from both ends and work your way inward. If you find two statements that are consistent, logical, kind, and meet the criteria above, take a sip of beer. You won't need a beer to play.
The gag reel will be nearly indistinguishable, but add a laugh track to see if it works. I don't think it's funny.
The blog has rolled over.

The Trumpster Fire
I'm almost reticent to look at what part of the Constitution is at risk today. Ok, all of it.
I wish I was kidding. Can you believe this? Despot is as despot does for the whole term.
Yesterday, he announced a statuary park for American heroes, maybe some of the people at yesterday's National Prayer Breakfast, he remarked, like it was the newest, bestest, red-hatted-est thing he could do besides letting them kiss longer and more soulfully.
He mentions something about 25 years, like he's in the illusory statuary park and good for the duration, or until the next president paves the road to Perdition with the rubble from it. If he builds it, ww, paint is really cheap! This is his plan for posterity? What a plan, or did I mention that?
The Pelosi
I heard her remark yesterday, she's going to start postcard writing and protest incitement, and most of all probably, collecting oligarchy money to get back her desk and her gold-plated desk plaque.
I think her intent is to to be the Cavalry, but it looks like Calvary, the dead body of the Democratic machine, rises again in 6 months; that's her prediction. Ya. The devil we knew.
Does anyone have a silver hammer?
Speaker Whats-His-Name
Equal under the blog, not so much under the law, as we've seen. If you're president, you get to bring your own brooms, for all the good it would do.
I must mention the Speaker from Louisiana, New Orleans. I have been there once, it was plenty. My lasting memory is after a late lunch, we strolled up Bourbon and a couple, one holding the other by the hoodie tossing his cookies and beignets with the Jack and soda all over the other one, who was just a bit better. Clearly they were having a good time now, and at bar preferred prices, a house payment.
So LIX, licks as Gronk quips. I can only imagine the debauchery; it's notable on a Sunday afternoon, for the Big Game it is literally the cake by the ocean, delta discounted.
Louisiana Roullette
But back to Whats-His-Name. I think it's Svenson or something. It was the worst one on the list a few times, and with that big fat Yellow member, well, roulette it ain't, well maybe it is in Louisiana.
I know nothing about the Speaker, other than noticing the string from his lower jaw stretches all the way to Mar A Lago and hooks back to the White House via the random number calling with the hot breath of the beast at the other end. I said soiled diaper, it catches all the shit the baby emits and keeps it secret sometimes. But the smell, eventually, is a dead giveaway.
From the Middle Out
I just need to be fair. The problem is on both sides of the aisle; the title of worst mainly changes with the change in power. Pelosi and Trump, why haven't they dated already?
Markets
Gee it's Friday, we all know about Friday's by 4 PM right?

Josh is all about finding the feeding frenzy first, leaving first. He's never made money any other way. Ok. I can accept that.
I have to ask, though, is this productive behavior beyond the waist and excess measurement? I'm not after Josh, they feed on each other enough in this hour, I'm just saying this is not economic benefit, it's like those sucker fish that grab on to sharks and wait for the chum.
In a real economy, this is churn, and it creates consumption; that's about it. Oh, besides being the major cause of all inflation.
Meta-Unstable
I am not a fan of the behavior here in any way. Doomscrolling, trying to pout like Naomi only without the baby oil, getting their little death from the likes and follows. When kids grow up, what drug replaces it?
Aside from the social psychology, there's FInkD; that's his twitter handle. FinkD. D, as in what? Bad Decisions and a face scarred by a sweaty, hot headset imprint upon it. FB was a dating site, but no one believed it enough to actually date someone, so it became Fakebook, and Fake was trending.
The Meta-Verse? It never even had a tune. Who wants to live with that shit on your face feeding you fake reality all day? The White House we got.
The Meta-AI, piffle. Snow tires, antiperspirants, hair gel and ... baby oil right in your feed, email, friends list, yada yada robot.
Some people will sell snake oil and the meat and the skin and the essence de coil, if there is money in it.
Meta-stable is a physical attribute. It is appropriate here. No one sneeze.

I saw Dee earlier with the spook report on the counter-insurgency underground, that's Altman and the rest of these AI experts that don't know shit about AI, but they own stock.
I don't use any of the bots except to research biology, it's harder for you to steal ideas you don't understand.

I did no research today, but I learned a lot. I thought about a couple of projects in particular. One of them is the one where all the spooks are picking their belly button lint over and some GUT.
I feel funny writing about these topics. I meant to get to bio, looks like it's retro-virus-messaging again. That's how you make new things. I considered it.
But I spent the day in the IMF, Oh, maybe two people would get it and won't see it; let's talk football.
Some may be going green, I'd bet down to the socks and guacamole. This is like their time. Eagles are green right? I don't know any other fans.
I have a passing interest in the game, a small personal wager. Someone who needs the money. My parley, it's a secret, Orange you win, Green you probably win anyway. I said small.
I don't like it when winning becomes who can slug the quarterback first, best, most often, and no broken leg or concussions either. Make us get the plays, it's funner(sic) that way.
'Aight? I'll, .... consider cheering between commercials, in principle. I mentioned guacamole, didn't I? A good protein source, and in California, it is as abundant as liars in the president's cabinet. A currently non-tariffed food item.
I thought I'd add that part.
Ms Abby
It's begun to rain here, like most of the day, wet but no floods. It usually floods.
By my tally, you have more women than men this evening, so I'm in.
I worry to what ends vengeance will grow here. Elon more psychopathic than Donald, if that is possible. This can't be about fraud, a conspiracy of money to accomplish ... more money? Come on, as a matter of principle or motivation, how many billion does any one deserve no matter what. I cannot find a logical reason to be this illogical and destructive except to become Hungary.
Sundipped Thursday
I look forward to Thursdays, I have the work, 20 minutes here and I'm done. Plus i get to break out of two paragraph-land. I was blank on a topic, but like a razor that cut the ear of Ol' Yellow as the bullets hit the bystanders, it came to me. We all know the drill, so let's make happy noises; if it's Thursday or Sunday, it's sundipped.
Papa Don't Care
Lions Tigers and Bears
Motherlands of Mayhem
The Nation Burns
Papa Don’t Care
Heads are rolling, spinning, ducking, suing, and pink slips are flying. Soon all the payments will be a mess like they are at Twitter now that no one uses it. But we are buying Gaza to put up casinos and strip clubs and massage parlors and cocktail bars and discos and casinos and hotels and strip clubs and casinos. Like Donald’s formative years, reminiscent yes?
Is anything that simple? Papa don’t care.
Lions Tigers and Bears
The lions, well Israel would claim that skin, the tigers are probably the other team. Tigers can climb trees, right? The bears would be the world audience. I resort to metaphor to skip things we've all experienced. Flying monkeys.
They are all upset. I say, why stop at Gaza, take the whole region. Trump told Bibi when Bibi said "this is the way your last term would have been again" he said, "and it will continue, and other countries too."
I see opportunity. Possibilities. What could we get for Ukraine, and maybe Poland. We could trade Putin the Ukraine for the whole Middle East, including Palestinians in the parking lot; lock, stock, and intifada. Don't worry, it will work out.
We never had it so good as Dorothy. Her cartoon characters only thought they had flaws. The cabinet and the Congressional leadership is a whole animated film. These toon’s, Papa don’t care. Bow, kiss, move along.
Here in the US, we’re all speechless. The Senate is led by a wet stamp, the House is led by a used diaper, and the cabinet is chock-full-o-crooks. Even Rubio seems spellbound by VooDoo, and he was the sanest one.
Meanwhile the entire Secret Service is protecting Trump from the Lions, Tigers, Bears, Ocelots, Panthers, Dragons and Eagles A ridiculous force this morning, there's a prayer breakfast.
Maybe we’ll luck out with the falling house thing.
Motherlands of Mayhem
Trump stood there like the Almighty with Bibi on his right hand like a quiver waiting for arrows, and he sold us his Middle East Peace Amusement Park and Whorery nee Gaza. A little later after the dust settled when he realized what he said, he redacted his mouth. By the time Netanyahu picked his right wing off of the floor the second time Trump was insisting we do it without any American troops on the ground.
Cue the Quiver
Bibi don’t care how they expire, but he’d rather have someone else pay for it, he was raised that way. We’ve been willing to pay. There's a party in Jerusalem, as sick as that sounds. It's as sick as it sounds.
Trump is looking for any red-light on a street in New Orleans at 2 AM. He needs to dump some mojo or invade somewhere. Bibi is just the dictator, and his cabinet is just the ticket. Trump can watch and take credit and not get dirty.
The people who will die, Papa don’t care.
Eventually the casinos will clean up Gaza if you can call that clean. That's the pitch. Dealers, dancers, counters, pit men, bosses, and bosses, and bosses, and the boss.
The Nation Burns
Meanwhile, back on the farm and in the condominium, eggs are 1.50 each again. There’s another pandemic brewing in the birds nests. The markets are in a panic, unsure which buildings aren't burning, and trying to stay unburnt.
If one had the eyes for it, you could an see the line on the horizon, approaching seemingly, ebbing, and beginning to curl. If one had the ears for it you could hear the violins playing for our next ex-president, that tune of unrequited love except for money; the hidden force that ends up requiting one for it's interests.
After the motorcade, a procession, mortuarial in tone, not many waves, not many looks, fewer looking back. He floats alighting like a crow edging its way along the telephone cable, grabbing here and there the hand of a proper mouthpiece, or supplicant.
The president stands as he appears at the National Prayer breakfast in the presence of both houses and others who are less interested in obligated spirits. He offers no prayer or benediction.
He talks about God and how he needs to use religion. It will make his work easier going forward, and easier for the powers that be in the audience. It will help the people stay happy. Given all that is going to happen he doesn’t see how that’s possible. He said that.
Neither do we.
I’m praying for a house to save us.

Evening Tea
As usual, there's no tea. It's been a strato-cumulus day here with fronts rolling through, nearly north to south. The local area rain measured maybe an inch. Not enough to rinse the average driveway well.
I Meant Miasma My Ass
Yesterday Jerod was ordering Caterpillar options contracts and making phone calls, who did he know in Israel that would pay way too much for a Palestinian in a parking lot. (Pig in a poke, no one knows poke. It's a bag.) I guess in someones mind it was McDonald's Playland sans Uzi's and Kalashnikovs by just pointing at the rubble, and remarking how he might live here, er, that we might live there, and die there, let's be honest.
They'd rather be a Palestinian in a parking lot.
Well, damn it, we'd rather be Americans with a Constitution, not a dishrag.
Anyway, Jerod may have had a lot of takers. He explained in one report that he had previously visited the concept into the planning stage. I'm guessing the discussion was solely with Netanyahu, and of course Trump, he could see it then, 'Gaza Plaza' , there is enough glitz in the title for a Home Alone sequel. A president breaks into the White House and steals everything, you get the idea.

That is what a tariff is by the way, a regressive tax. Your Nikes at 100 bucks doable, at 110 + tax you wear 'em out.

But all of a sudden we're not going to Disneyland, and he meant the Mall anyway.

I feel like they will get more mad at them if I don't give them a mention, after all they all need a job too. If you watch them, do they not short? No, that's not a typo.
On the panel, Guy, Melissa, Charter Carter, Steve G and the rest of the good guys. Becky, do a spot once in a blue market, huh, and Quik. She could be a UN embassador, dealing with the Squawking box every morning. I assume Dee is busy adding things up like she always does.
Treasury
I should pay more attention to the Treasury, it's just so boring.
Just two questions. I'll give you two too.
Sovereign Wealth
About this wealth fund the Sec T is building, so what does the gang think about government investment?
On a larger scale, which of Greenland, Canada, Gaza, Israel, Panama, and Ukraine is not a loss leader for the rest of the century? I was assuming economically, assuming any of the economics would ever work. More negative cash flow, out. The humanitarian side of the argument, has no counterargument at all, knock yourselves out.
AI
I don't use AI much anymore, lately I do chemical analysis of materials. I'm actually mostly a chemistry guy, bio and not. I run past the bots so fast they are basically poor Chem300 assistants with anything cellular. I guess I like the concept. We would'nt want them improving on the design.
The AI stuff, I work on a new algorithm once in awhile. It's a complete project, for now. I have some side projects that are siderealiy related, but everything I do is siderally related. I could say quantum, but why dither.
AI at retail devolves into a per-prompt toolset, only a rich man would build on someone else's LM, and certainly not anything Oracle or Ellison. The use case is voice of course, but idealy that's a terminal input device, thats all. So this stock move today in chips, deceptive I think. Sure some big problems, but these things don't think, they colate and contrast, that's it. All types of the unknowns are ... just not there.

Your second question, I'll take as overall. The markets are confused, i looked at my watch list, everything makes sense in some way, except for the things that don't make sense, like AutoZone, wtf? With coming potential Canada tariffs, i know some of you, Bono? hold it, so what up?
The markets, un-fathomable to any rational analysis. Dart board.
Google is a sure thing, any way you slice it. Like BA.
Someday I'll tell you how Google changed the world.
Carter, perhaps it's contract loads and energy. That's a little counterintuitive I think, but truckers work differently, and energy is more, the rest is invariant. I further consider it must be cost savings, because drivers are not doing great. Of course, that assumes a value index that has meaning, not momentum.
Markets
Ok so I looked. Let's see that's happening in space.

Scott is in today and he's talking to Liesman, that's not a contraction, it usually is some green-paper-centric world view though. I usually disagree, He's the economic stronghold at CNBC. The care and feeding of the advertiser base, the real job.
I don't want to be unkind, but it I wanted chewed Alpo I'd buy it in cans wholesale. Well, at Wallmart.
When it comes to the economy, there is the market, the Treasury auctions, the interest rate, and the Federal Reserve. Not on the list. I have not looked at the market. Shall we?
Name these stocks. GLD NVDA TSLA I think. Sums it up, ya?
Stand-In Hegseth's First Days
Ok, hot dog make with the invasion army shit, and re-target those submarine nukes, cover Iran like it has the flu. Satelites and GPS all set to go deep-six too, or off just enough at the right time. The world, it is so knit together, like accupuncture of the worlds nervous system these quakes.
Do I dare look at the markets?
SSTPS
Stupid Shit The President SaidHell, Donald don't be such a pussy, Israel too, and what's left of Ukraine, Panama, Greenland, Canada, all loss leaders and packed with people who won't like it, and that includes the US.
You dumb !#(% :)
Thank you.
I've Been Bitchin'
I meant I've been bitching about math not being correct and I had an Idea that I should fix it then. So, new project I can work on and not feed the eggmen my ideas, I need to do stuff they can't grok. Ok, that's a lot. The math is close in places, there's just a few rats in the forecastle. Elon, Trump, the Speaker whats-his-name, 'em too.
Here's the thing, I don't need all the math. See you in 2610, if any of you survive.

Is there no other way to rid ourselves of this?
No I mean it, you there, with the law degrees, get thon it ok before he owns you too.
SCOTUS
I'm not a lawyer, but somewhere we should be discussing the Project 2025 Response project.
I'm thinking the only way left is the Supreme Court, do we have to sue to get him out of office? Where do I sign?
Ms B
So why are we not arresting President Donald John Trump?
Yes, Ms Collins, Jihad. If it's Trump that's acting Custer here, all that drone traffic may take on new meaning. I was wondering about these two crashes, some kind of circumnavigating counter espionage operation doubled over and embossed? And that helicopter, well, we don't have a Reichstag, and they tried that shit at the capitol. I guess when is a plane most vulnerable, and what about the common intelligence, decades worth. Lawyers work, every way I look at it, the kind of liars poker where no one knows the rules until someone loses.
Foots-ball
Shall we talk football? It's trending probably. I don't like Swift, so the other team.
Hallie will be for the Eagles, hockey-blood. I'd prefer a merlot, just a sip, some cheese, chocolate, espresso, a blanket. Ok, merlot sans brain damage, say... Indica. I may watch, but I make a point not to get involved with that kind of thing, it reminds me so much of politics in the small and with seasons tickets and boxes.
The Presser
Gees, someone give him a bigger codpiece, we've seen this one.
From Palestine into the Ocean
All that stupid shit he said early, he's underlining. Donald, how about some cheap oil and groceries, any of that in New Palestine, and where do they work, and who pays for the hospitals and schools, and how about voting, where do they vote, and are they citizens, or just grave markers?
His policy is to to pave them over it's cheaper that way, and anyone that checks '!#(% you Trump' on the questionnaire goes to Guatamala, the rest of them share an 8x10 with a hole behind the concrete and a bucket of water.
He'll call it Gaza Plaza huh? Gold plated wakizashi, which he will sign for a fee. A collectors item.
Holy war or what?
Ukraine
He's prepping the landscape for the mess he's preparing to make in Ukraine, 'dramatically, hopefully,...will rise above everything', as in so we won't notice. He'll probably let Putin take it all in exchange for Palestine or some other mess he can make. He wants to blockade Panama, we all know no one wants to be there, very long. That's the next !#(% up.
Afternoon Tea
The Time machine chunks along, we were at 2 minutes once, and we didn't know what it was good for except for traffic, and now that the delta tends to h-bar m2 well, where do you want to go?
Not Mars.
The Head Martian
Mars is dead now, Mars was dead a million years ago, Mars will be dead a million years from now. If Elon wants to bury himself there, fine, we're for the on landing he mentions, but he'll wait for other fools to try it first. However his impact marker we're good with as long as it's his money not SSI. Maybe someday they'll put up a cardboard sign like below.
Susskind'ing Some Spacetime
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lattice_QCD is on the menu at the moment. Informational purposes only.
Sciutto
Two T's. Wow, how do you plan or participate in any future with all this shit going on?
Le Chem
More chemistry today I think. I'm a natural at chemistry, somehow, but I'm a natural natural so why fight it. The Chinese seem to have an edge here too.
Is it not attractive, it was not on my list.
Inka-dinka-do. It's bad chinese process, mediocre like Imortant Joe says.
This is a Chinese patent, steal their shit.
What I Heard
Education Ghettos
He brings up education districts, 6 in Ca, one in Riverside he'd fund. In NYC the schools would run better if they had to do it without Federal Money. Iowa, Kentucky, Tennessee, without Federal Education Aid, that's a pencil box and a piece of chalk.
Secret Bomb Iran Orders
We gather there's been an attempt, or rumor of an attempt. He never even goes outdoors, how they are going to insulate him in NO I have no clue. All of those people are drunk and carrying.
Wiki-Gaby
All our allies now on a WikiList to be released by Elon et al. I don't know how big the shovel is, with the access I guess you take it all.
Scooping Up Gaza
His view on the Palestinian problem and Gaza is: it's great beachfront if you get rid of the rubble, the shooting, and the people. That's Policy.
Obliteration
I'm intrigued by this, how does the ghost of Ol' YellowStain ever come back from the grave and seek vengeance on the people that voted for him when they find out what all this means. He worries about Iran. I did not vote for him, so you people.
Netanyahu
He says, when we work together, the threat goes down. When we don't work together, the threat goes up. Let's parse that. The IDF can't scoop up Palestinians better unless we give them better scoops. They make sure the threat goes up, it brings pennies from Hades.
I always comment, I never chose the music. I can prove it with mathematics.
How to be a Heartbreaker
It's clear, if you are a ninny-nominee and it looks iffy, just remember how Trump got here.
He lied.
If that was not obvious then it is obvious now. First off, the one day as dictator has lasted two weeks and gets worse every day.
So Senator Kennedy, will you be a doorstop to Trump? Naw, he'll hold the door open for him. Oops. I mean, not a doormat. How can I put this so you can lie to it easier R?
I know he's not a senator.
You agree you'll send us an email 30 days after you delete the Department you lead.
Ya sure.

Evening Tea
Another day, another day without tea.
It's been like that, all manner of nonsense everywhere, he lies, someone else tells him to !#(% of already, he takes a call back and with a wave of a wand pulls their 455 out of the fire he just lit. El Duce de Dork.
Watch him work that light switch. Careful, he may leave it off.
What an idiot. How many times is this shit going to work? How long before this !#(% is sitting in the dark.
Nooner
Over lunch I got sucked into a QCD rabbit hole, and pulled along, riding the virtual photon, past the speed of YouTube and right smack into Journal télévisé de Paris territory. I guess I need to explain. That's what once happened to me some years ago after a day of shopping with a non-French speaking sister, and working the translation and exchange rate scales, well, the nightly news wore me down.
It was the 50th Anniversary of QCD, and it's still broken really. This effort is huge, great thought, great men, great guesses, thank you all. I keep looking for a rule set that works that I can work with. Today I saw light in quantum spaghetti with Susskind; he was obsessing on containment, and other developments, skimming really. Reminiscing perhaps. Dinner talk. With some of the Math. Fun.
So, I'm letting the QFT stew, maybe some French.
Tomorrow is another project. Time travel, right?
Le Chem
I spent a part of the day yesterday on chemistry patents, one in particular that caught my eye, very complex, very exacting, very accurate; a patent of China. I blinked. I can't tell you what process, what chemistry. I resolved it is so much easier to make new things with things that already exist. I compared it with my own thoughts, theirs less intuitive more rigorous, difficult, meticulous. They had lost me at intuitive, rigor is for bots.
Markets
I sometimes catch the Beam Team for mid-day market updates. Already it's been a Trump-ster fire, first off 700 points, then back up on Corona and Maverick bets in Mexico.
Scotty usually calls in sick on these kerrr-aaazzzy days, I guess that makes sense, the market does too.
If you revisit my analysis available here, you'll see I'm batting 11,000,000 .
The food supply chain with Mexico serious business too, not so much for California, but California exports to the rest of the US, and there go winter strawberries. We get to hold our breath for a month, while the suppliers react and raise prices preemptively anyway, then when it happens again, they'll take more.
Make Food Affordable Again to no one.
Losing the EggFace
Here we waited to see if both Canada and Mexico can find a believable excuse to overturn this shit. Let 'em kiss the ring, Yellow, you got the biggest pickle anyone has ever seen -- the EOTW. Tik tok tik ^^07739!#(%39. *

Gimme Everything
Sundipped Sunday
Can you believe it? Is it comprehensible, likely, or even desired? Don't ask, and I won't tell you the truth. We're making changes in America like they were socks that only fit certain feet, not most of the pied de terre, or any of the people that can't afford to live there or the barefoot, pregnant, and without proper health care. It sounds like antebellum livin' wins one. But it's Sunday, and if it is Sunday or Thursday, let's sundip it.
Plantation Livin'
Barefootin' It
Bully's Pulpit
The Fates of Failures
Plantation Livin'
I loved Lisa Douglas playing the foil in Hooters-ville. It was sodbuster chic and clever and said many things all at once if you looked more than once. I love looking more than once.
We're getting set for some of that ol' timey politics, where whoever carried the biggest swangin' rope ruled the day and the plantation. An owner could be good, or an owner could be bad; it was between him and his maker. These day's the maker has an Oval Office and a square disposition.
He knows about rope, too, probably.
Barefootin' It
If you've been to the south, the dirt road, bathroom around the back south, with the mansions and the busted picket fences, you've got a grip on the semantic I'm a lookin' fer.
As it turned out, some states were not that good at managing money, the money they were willin' to pay I mean, and got ready to get it from the government, share and share alike. The New York Yankees can afford it, not Bugtussle. Nor the Tom Cotton south.
Without all that pay, and payola, think of the money we'll save. Think of the wealth building. Think of the socks.
You voted for it. Access to anything you can afford after the rent and energy, if there is anything.
Bully's Pulpit
Down in Texas, they talk about cattle or oil and wear big hats. There's some oil left in Texas, and they mean to keep it and eat it, too. That's the rule there, and if you have it, you get to keep it and charge more for it. That's the pitch.
The men also talk about men who are all hat, no cattle, and these men aren't counting heads.
That swangin' rope trick works well on the weak-minded; I'm not saying Texas, I'm sayin' hats.
We're walking that a way this morning. Where do you think you are a goin'?
The Fates of Failures
It was a made up thing, emergency powers, fire in the Reichstag, commies in the government. If you were making up conspiracy theories, it would be challenging to find an original one.
The best way to get control is to make a mess and then declare it so. Are we all tracking?
I'd paste a litany of the names of these men, and they are all men, but I think it's obvious I respect that research and knowledge that led you here, and that is my continued expectation.
Even with some study the actions of men seem a blur in the rearview, aging out and fading thankfully, but perhaps hauntingly reminiscent now, and a lesson to the would-be kings, their futile future as failures. Lesson 1A.
Games
It's not my board; I don't play pointless games, but I think the next moves involve riots, protests, and arrests by the non-woke military.
I say games because this isn't about America; it's some Project Takeover Scheme and transparent as !#(% if you want to look even once.
I say pointless because we know where these guys end up.
I know it's uncomfortable to think of these things. We're not ready to accept all this at once, which may be our weakness. But we all see it, now. Right?

What Ever Happened To...
Bill Maher
Oy vey.
Imagine Peggy Noonan holding out a piece of bacon, and a shaggy terrier is drooling, every nerve perked.
He apologized for all that stuff he said about ol' Peg; he was caught up in the moment. It was like he stole the election or tried, got caught, and then squeaked his way out of it. No apology or anything like it.
Ok, maybe not a lot, but point taken.
So, Bill Maher was cool. He smoked weed and admitted it. Did Jim Beam get cheaper?
I give up.
Peggy Noonan
Nothing ever happened to Peggy Noonan. You'd have to use a corkscrew on this one, Donald. If that's insulting, it may be on purpose. That makes me a gentle person, like Peggy. Don't live in fear or be a victim. She goes on.
Living on the streets in America sucks, she said; stay with your own despots, sort of. *

I Wake Up This Morning
And what do we see? The president needed to blow off a little steam, so he raised tarrifs on our friends Canada and Mexico and China too, excepting Elon's back yard probably, oh and oil.
But food, rent, tires, car parts, cars, insurance, interest rates, inflation. Headed at a 45 degree slant. pi/4 ? Big Ooool? sure they'll agree to eat the tariff for us. Ya.
The bombs, bunker busters probably, landed in the dirt in Somalia, some cave dwellers, already in the stone age, what can you do but collapse the cave. Probably cost millions. Someone check it.
Someone also keep note of the crazy shit this guy tries to get away with every day, and there's no way to stop him, we may as well ask for lightning to strike.
Ok, we can try that. Just, do it on Hiway 61. ok? *
I guess he just needed to kill something. We're supposed to think, better them than us, but he's bombing us too. Food stores, apartment buildings, job sites, office buildings, the stock market. Boom.

Evening Tea
It was a cool day, some hazy sun, no wind, and cold. Here in SoCal, cold is defined as under 75 degrees in the shade. I'm ready for dinner, no tea. I'm uncomfortable with all this air disaster, I don't know how else to put it.
Work Page n+1
Partons (groups of strings) I found this from Susskind on partons, and a sort of hurry up video Susskind and Partons (no group theory)
I skimmed it and asked the bot to comment.
I'm for bed, many distractions, a lot of math. ZZzzzzz.....
House In Order
It's Friday, I can tell because the Carniceria up the block burns Mesquite all weekend and sells bar-b-q chicken and ribs, off the outdoor grill.
Like the chicken on the grill, we're not done with the week yet. So shake off the sauce, and stand up like a human.
You don't want all that dragging you through the weekend.
The Day's Work
I like to pause in the morning over coffee and tea, and again, there's no tea, and consider what I will do for the day. I have so many projects and interests I never wonder long. As I said, I start the day with a blank chalkboard, and at times the next step reorders my priorities.
Depending on the day and the current Trump dumpster fire I turn to the news or watch the markets. I have low friends in high places, and vice versa, excepting the pond scum, vampires, and whale extracts.
Today... let's spin the quantum event.... poof!
The Markets
Today I picked the markets, because I read all about Bombardier jets yesterday, and I learned something about the secret presidential escape routes by helo when someone in the world besides us calls Ol' Yellow's bluff.
Money's Movements
I've known Carl Q since he floated in wearing brown loafers on the Today show on NBC, and Carl is a good sort. We had a clandestine meeting in Starbucks in an alternate reality; he was dressed from the Gap with a well worn Rolex and a sharp cut fade. He smelled like soap, and his collar was too tight. I asked about the family.
So I guess that's the real side of his temporary permanent day job, until or when they sell the chairs he sits on we'll find out if his kids are going to college.
Business glosses over the human cost of ... business. Layoffs and inflation are real things to a nice man like Carl and the fam. And to you too.
The Beam Team
I'll catch you for lunch. Perhaps the analyst is right about semi's, but its not demand that made the NVDA melt, it's bereft of momentum. Someone said, Josh?, that their index uses no 'official' indicators, like interest rates. So, that.
Inside Mattingly
No volunteers in the progressive wing for the firing squad queue.
Where's Van Jones and his obsessed yen for position as a black man in a white world view, and the Nancy, is she still hunting the silver hammer wielding?
This is dumb shit. Cowards, Trump would grab 'em by the pussy.
The Real Work
So there's just the Russian agent and the Kennedy Klown Kar and the markets are confused because the carrot at the end of the stick turned into a La-Z-Ike, skimming the surface of the water, and looking like bait.
I did the relativity proof, and it doesn't help, directly, with the time machine, but I may look into some of the potential energy integrals. Other than that.
The Rest of the Day
I will follow up on the integrals, I'll leave it to others to critique the proofs. The conclusions are logical and consistent with my knowledge and intuitions. As I said, there are evident exceptions that are not part of the proof and are not covered. I'm passing on the proof, but I'm looking at the relativity mathematics.
Oh, and this Broken Math there's a lecture series you can speed up with Leonard on parton theory, See Stanford.
Emma
I should mention Emma, so the markets can have another conniption with things I reveal on purpose. Like the writing on the mirror, things may be larger than they appear. I'm back to work some of that math and the implications, yeah, it's more of. They are everywhere.
Yesterday's News
...so to speak. I put it all over here
